SofaKingSickfor real terrain, squaw is a must, and alpine is on the same ticket and also super dope-- more traditional layout than squaw too. honestly, if i didn't love steeps and cliffs and just wanted more traditional recreational skiing, squaw's runs wouldn't be my favorite, theyre not super long. but i think your family would still love it for its size, beauty, fame, etc etc
kirkwood is dope but farther away from the rest
for park northstar is best. it's a meh mountain otherwise
boreal is great for park too but honestly traveling to california to ski park at little boreal seems a little silly
heavenly valley doesn't have amazing terrain (but it does have some!) but it's really big (area wise) and has super beautiful views and the gondola that takes you from the village down by the lake to the top of heavenly is super dope haha
mt rose is pretty good too for a good all around mtn
