I got mine ripped out when I was 13 and that was the most fucked up ive ever been in my life. Everyone hyped me up and said shit like “ohh you get to miss school and eat ice cream”. Yeah I wish. I could barely drink water because it made my throat feel like the surface of the sun. I didn’t speak for several days. I managed to swallow a few spoonfuls of some cold mashed potatoes but I didn’t eat anything for almost a week. I was swallowing blood and puking every few hours and I was in a weird fucked up fever dream state of mind for that entire week. I was already a scrawny kid and I dropped like 20 pounds just from that week alone. 0/10 experience keep your tonsils.
