DIY tech insert only for uphill?

Hi!
I have a pair of 2018 ft decendant. I love my boots, I’ve had them bootfitted to perfection and I do not want another pair of boots for touring since these are perfect.
Am I stupid to drill my own tech insert on these if I only will be using them for uphill with the shift binding? I thought that since uphill does not create that much pressure it won’t break the boot.
is this stupid? Should I go for a framebinding instead?

i personally wouldn't do it. the holes must be "lined" with metal otherwise it is most likely that the pins won't gonna hold in the first place or the abrasion after 2-3 times will be so great that u gonna ruin the whole boot. but i'm no pro. i never heard someone considering it so i can't really give an inside. I would just ask a shop maybe they have the equipment to pull that off..

If the fit is all you’re worried about, you could get the ascendant. Afaik it should fit very similar to a descendant

Ascendant will fit exactly the same as the Descendant. Another option is to send your boot to Cast Touring and they can drill pin tech inserts, but DIY and ski boots never ends well.
