SavageBiffWe are experts at wasting resources.
im gonna catch some hate for this but fuck it ...
Were flying fighter jets over hospitals here in pa to show our “appreciation” for healthcare workers etc... Fuck that shit. This costs a massive amount of money , fuel, and pollutes. If we really appreciated them we could do so much more! Just stay home and don’t waste and pollute, or hell donate that fuel money and donate your time instead of performing a flyover.
This just in , governments handing out more friggin money holy shit

DominatorJacquesI hear that. I was at a customers home near the hospital. The jets did the fly over. I said "what a waste of our tax money", then she said she had been a nurse. Awkward!

Dustin. It's no more dangerous than any other flight. And those flights are going to happen either way, Congress sets the budget and allows essentially zero latitude with how the money is spent once the flying hour program is bought. You either fly the hours or the money gets thrown in a pot for other random DOD things that are lined up in case there is extra at the end of the fiscal year.
Bottom line, taking a lap around the city and flying the mission after that doesn't cost any more than a regular flight, and we have to fly the lines.

DominatorJacquesYea, they gotta' spend the money. Sad. At least they did not have a malfunction and crash one into a town or city.
Dustin.I mean I think that's a great thing to be thankful for literally every time an airplane takes off.....they fly over cities and towns all around the world constantly. Frankly, it's a ridiculous point to make.
DominatorJacquesWell, no. Military jets crash all the time. One just crashed the other day.
Dude look here. Long list.

Dustin.I'm well aware, I know a lot of the pilots and what actually happened too, but just because you don't know that we fly around cities every single day doesn't suddenly make it more dangerous when you decide it is. Most of these mishaps happen during tactical training, not while flying around enroute.

LonelyWaste sucks, but using more paper and forest products is usually much better for the environment than it is harmful. I'm more concerned about the money the government is wasting than the paper. Use more paper
DominatorJacquesI'm not against forest management, but wasting on that letter was bull crap.

LonelyTrees are a renewable resources and will likely play a big part in the fight against climate change. Of all the negative aspects of forest management paper and pulp tends not to be a problem. No one is cutting down old growth for pulp.
I'm much more worried about the money being wasted than the environmental effects
DominatorJacquesI hope you watched the video.
My only concern with paper production is the pollution it may produce. I have not looked into that for a long time. Maybe they are doing better these days.
It's not just the paper he wasted, but the ink and electricity etc.
SavageBiffEvery time I go to the local grocer(Giant Eagle) , they print me out a 3ft receipt, no option for an emailed receipt and it pisses me off, they’re supposedly green 🙄 lie
i also always see one of the lords special cart pushers not wash his hands in the bathroom every time I’m there and then rearrange the pre packaged lunch meats, it’s just wonderful seeing talented tommy giggle holding his pecker and then stacking pepperoni and cheese two minutes later
The referenced post has been removed.
DominatorJacquesHa ha! It's not that I am against paper, just some times junk mail etc. seem to be a waste. It'a amazing how much ink and paper a company will use to get customers!
I actually don't do online unless I have to. I still like a good old fashion paper trail. I still have every piece of paper for every house payment I ever made, property purchased etc.
LonelyCut down the trees....Sustainably....and use more forest products

freestyler540You dont live in a clear cut region. Forestry industry is way, way worse than mining. I used to have that mindset when I was living in downtown Quebec City; "forests didnt concern me at all". As long as the city walking park has trees, I thought everything was A-OK.
Then I moved to Nelson, BC. I see the havoc being done to the Old growth forests in West kootenays. The trees are the most valuable in the world, but 500 hectors of bio diverse lands are wiped off the earth in BC, EVERYDAY! There is a huge increase in landslides due to the irresponsible clear cutting on steep mountains. Should I also mention the permanent damage to the livability of the lands? Cutting down a Hemlock-Douglas Fur-Cedar forest injects cyanide and other heavy metals picked up by the tree into the ground? Yes, Cedar lasts a long time due to the toxic byproduct in their sap that kill mold and insects. The ground will remain reddish-brown to grey death look for at least 20 to 30 years.
So no, there is no "sustainable" clear cutting. Its a myth.
Reduce your usage as best as you can. Recycling is a fucking lie, its basically an international garbage disposal market with the wealthy countries leading the scam. Canada got its garbage sent back from the Philippines with a giant middle finger from their president. Yes Canada, a country that gloats about being an environmental leader...

LonelyCut down the trees, sustainably. what you described doesn't sound like BMP for me. Never been to that area but BC is notorious in the forestry world for poor practice. I don't think we disagree there.
There is also 100% a place for clear-cutting. Many early successional species need it and other species like jack pine which is a somewhat common pulp tree either needs a fire regime, which people don't like, or it needs to be cut with a burning or tilling afterwards to regrow. Invasive forests pests also are often a cause of clear cutting. The forest is very complicated but forestry products are renewable. The forest is a carbon sink. When you use that timber for paper, furniture, building and other things most of the carbon isn't released and any land management company that wants to continue to make money will replant. Resulting in the cutting being close to carbon neutral and sometimes even positive for carbon sequestration.
Products like concrete plastic and steel are not renewable in the sense that forest products are and always produce much more carbon than they sequester. Using timber as a building material acts like a carbon battery and even using slash for biofuel usually is carbon neutral as long is the site is replanted or only selective/shelterwood cut. The same carbon released through biofuel is reabsorbed by the forest and becomes a part of the trees.
I'm very against old-growth being removed, but in the united states old-growth cutting is the minority in most areas and is becoming the minority in others

DominatorJacquesYea, I'm not real big on clear cuts, but they tell me if they leave a few Douglas Fir trees, the wind just blows them down.
Where I live it's mostly Lodge Pole and Pondarosa. Those to fine to just thin out and are much healthier when that is done.
DominatorJacquesYea, they gotta' spend the money. Sad. At least they did not have a malfunction and crash one into a town or city.
freestyler540How long does a Ceder take to grow to over 5' diameter? 20, 60 years? Well, try 1,500 years. I dont call that renewable at all.
souljaboyfan2006The vast majority of fighter crashes aren't due to "malfunctions" plus the people flying these routes are highly trained with thousands of hours of flight time, but keep trying to pull stuff out of your ass to prove your point
