I first met Hackel in the spring Mt.hood in 2014. Kieran McVeigh, who we had been filming with in Sweden earlier that year brought Hackel over to our apartment in Govy. I knew of him because I had seen his midget gangster street edit he posted on NS in 2013 maybe?. Kieran had showed Hackel a compilation of my Finess and Less footy and Hackel was more hyped on it than anyone had ever been on my footage. It was a big moment for me! I could see a burning fire of inspiration in his eyes! Love him and I'm super stoked he now lives with us in Sweden!

I do some random jobs in the summer that I get through my parents and their friends. For example: Electrical fishing in rivers and streams to make sure the fish stocks are doing, Vole inventory in the Fjälls, Measuring trees, and all sorts of super dank jobs where I get to be out in nature where I love it da most!! I do make most of my money skiing though

I was on a serious flow path, stacking heaters at a rate I had never experienced. My confidence was boosted. I'm always thinking of how I can ride spots differently and I saw the hole and knew I could do it. Sometimes visions are just given to you and you really believe in them, it's hard to explain but it's some serious flow shit, magical mysterious higher frequencies stuff. I got the rail in like 6 tries. I bruised both my shoulders and didn't even realize. I came up on one of my all-time heaters. Good day!!!!

I love simple and clean but that style has gotten over consumed. For me it takes a whole lot of simple + clean swag to make me raise and eyebrow these days. I like to see people let their inner freak loose!!
imhackelI have never seen someone that has the same amount of passion to get clipped up as you do. I have seen you be freezing cold to the point you can't feel your feet anymore after running winch for 5 hours straight in the Arctic circle for the homies and then still strap up for the last hour of sun to get a hammer. Any normal person after including myself would not have had the energy/desire/confidence in that moment.
Where does that mentality/energy of always being ready to snap at any given moment come from? How can we learn the ways?
First off, you have the same passion to get clipped up!! Most of the time I'm just stoked to ski the spot, epecially after you have stomped a XGames heater right in front of my eyes. Sometime's when I'm not feeling it 100% it's hard to take that initial dicision to start skiing. At those moments I like to zoom out and think of the bigger picture, like the part or the movie. As soon as you you start skiing you get gassed up and then it's on.
