weastcoastI’ve skated a little bit In the past, it’s pretty hard, I’ve only managed to learn how to Ollie without any movement. I can either get back into skating this summer or should I try rollerblading? I feel like blading will be a lot easier to get the hang of really right off the bat plus it’s way more similar to skiing
a_pla5tic_bagRollerblading is way easier to learn, just like how its easy to ski compared to snowboarding. The wall at skateboarding is the ollie, it's way easier to get basic rollerblade tricks down unless you have absolutely no balance in which case skateboarding wasn't for you either. The wall in rollerblading is when you try to get good at switchups and spinning into and out of rails. And I don't mean just doing ski type grinds, that's easier.

DIRTYBUBBLEcant speak for blading but I’d say just do both.
Skateboarding is hard as fuck. It makes learning tricks on skis feel easy. It’s painful and will beat the shit of you. Learning how to ollie feels more like working out rather than skateboarding. The learning curve is sharp and most people quit before they get past it. But it’s so rewarding it’s like an addiction. Getting into skating made me feel like I was 13 years old and getting into park skiing all over again. Don’t even get caught up on learning tricks, they come with time or effort, just cruising fast pretending you’re on a surfboard is highly underrated. To me that feels more like skiing than any other sport.
CaseySkateboarding is like golf. The first 10 years are spent just being obnoxiously bad at it. Then if you really keep at it you kind of stop embarrassing yourself every time you do it.
