Stay at the fuck inside if you’re scared
JAHBRADORWow, have to say, after reading that I am actually starting to maybe agree with you..
DominatorJacquesLockdown is pure crap. Not to deep in this there is talk about the USA too. All this second wave stuff is more fear mongering.

JAHBRADOROf course I’m not being serious u n00b, anything skiindiana says related to C19 is complete garbage

skiindianaWhat in the article did you disagree with?
KevskiSafe to say you missed/avoided the point. Again. No amount of inaccurate misguided ridicule will mask that. Honestly though I'd still listen if you could bring a real argument to the table. I actually upvoted one or two of your posts because you clearly can think critically - too bad simply being able to think isn't what this discussion is about.
Example 5: Takes a break from conversation after receiving a series of baseless accusations instead of a reasonable discussion, having acquired no intellectual stimulation to speak of.
3maniaA couple of positives could come out of this.. Maybe people won't pull down that Corona Virus covered bar down and i've noticed y'all stopped talking about how much you love to eat ass.
SnowshoeThompsonExample number 5: continue to place blame on individual and act like you were personally attacked when nothing was actually said. Continue to listen to individual narrate your own response and become personally offended.
edit: yo I’m sorry, you seem like a nice enough person when you weren’t playing a victim or going after my political views.
Do you see how you pretty much had a conversation with your self regardless of the fact that I never said a word to you? This is the point I’m making. The majority Of people today will listen to their own narrative before they reason with anybody opposing them. There is no common ground anymore. This is your shitty psychology lesson of the day. You’re welcome NS

Titus69Hoods about to be hammered with snow it appears?
skinning up that thing sounds a little more enticing now, not paying for a lift ticket
IanAvery-Leafyup Fridays shaping up to be real nice! Love that the uphill access is open for everyone, no reservation needed, but it's confined to the overflow lot only, still have to go through a checkpoint that doesn't open until 8am, and as of 9am last Friday it was already pretty full. From the looks of it the skin track was more crowded than anything involving the lifts, so I'm curious how they plan on handling even more uphill capacity when the first bluebird day comes around
The referenced post has been removed.
IanAvery-LeafBased on reading the website/social media I assume they only start letting any cars past the checkpoint at 8am, including uphill skiers. I assume based on this: “Timberline is operating the ski area and hotel with a very measured and cautious approach. We would hope that uphill traffic visitors practice similar measures with their mindsets and activities.” that they are basically hoping without saying it that uphill skiers just skin up to the top of Palmer for a mellow lap instead of going into further more risky zones? Idk, but I snagged another res to ski tomorrow so I’m down ask the checkpoint person tmrw morning about earlier starts for uphill
Titus69What does the checkpoint even consist of?

KevskiMan, there’s a real discussion to be had here and I swear you’re playing up my judgement of you way beyond how I feel. Truly there’s only one or two people in this thread who have explicitly said they don’t care about others and have no problem putting them at risk. That’s where my issue and judgment lies. The rest is worthy of discussion. Sorry you felt targeted.
You did say a lot without really saying a word of your own. Every piece that you pulled was loaded with judgment that made it clear where you positioned yourself in relation to my argument. Sassy but you didn’t really bring anything new to the table.
I thought that some firsthand experience would help give context to my situation and where my motivation lies. Yep it was a bit long but it was an excuse to articulate some thoughts late on a Friday night. Like I said, everyone’s situation is different and our responses to this are too.
Yeah guess I kept that convo going by myself, but I literally asked you questions to try and find common ground. Partly brought up the Canadian thing to prove I’m not partisan and that I’m open to any reasonable argument. Why engage with you? Because you can articulate a social critique beyond “fuck y’all’s I’ll do what I want” and I think it would actually be an interesting discussion. Yes I was provoking you but I thought you might bite. As bunk as it is to be target of a series of examples, I appreciate trying to cut out the contradiction and bullshit ever present on both sides of partisan arguments. People don’t fit in molds and we need to actually talk with people we disagree with. NS is perfect for this - we literally all give a shit about skiing.
Still down for answers on my questions. Sincerely and this time without sass.
blackof course its crickets from @skiindiana and @SnowshoeThompson after you post this...still would love to hear legit replies from them beyond just their typical bullshit whining saying end the lockdown with zero substance beyond that
also lost a ton of respect for DomJaq with his post wtf, you're usually fairly smart and informed....next are you gonna post 5G is giving us covid....?

skiindianaWhat kind of reply are you expecting. What questions does this person need answered? The comment you reference is just someone seemingly talking to themselves for four paragraphs...
skiindianaHere you go:
What is the actual threat to liberty of being recommended to make some temporary sacrifices for others?
You just described a loss of liberty and asked how is that a threat to liberty? My ability to leave my house and go where I please on public land should NEVER be limited. Not for a day, not for a week. It is not up to anyone to decide if I should 'make sacrifices for others'. Free will is not based on what you want me to do or what the government thinks is best.
Do you believe you will not get all your freedom back?
It doesn't matter if I get it back... I do not go outside with permission from the government. Ever.
If someone's freedom takes away freedom from someone else, how do you decide who deserves to have it?
This question doesn't make sense. My freedom to go outside doesn't inhibit the ability of anyone to go outside. You might argue it increases the risk of some population, but how does their increase in risk take away my freedom? Do cars make walking on the street more risky? No one 'deserves' freedom - you are entitled to it and no one can take it away.
What qualifies anyone to decide which losses are acceptable, and can a right to lifestyle win over a right to life?
Again this question doesn't make sense and is just loaded nonsense based on your existing belief that people who want to go outside are unwilling to sacrifice convenience for lives. If you don't want COVID stay the fuck inside. My life and well-being includes me going outside. No one is making you do anything, but you're arguing that I should be forced to do something. That is an untenable argument.
Free will means I can do what I want. It means you can do what you want too.

theabortionatorDon't tread on me dude!
Get an American flag tramp stamp already. So much freedom...
I feel like the angriest, fully filled with rage types on this have consistently been the, live in a city or away from snow and take ski trip dad types. It really wasn't that hard to get good days in this year. I think it really had little to do with skiing, and a lot to do with "Nobody tells me and my family what to do".
If the spring had been normal, most of the outraged people wouldn't have skied that much, some not at all. But as soon as you say no. "Do you know who I am? I'll friggin fight you or sue you or something! Nobody tells me no!"
Unfortunately that vibe really is pretty damn American. This country is a dumpster fire half the time loosely held together. Something coming and shaking that up really shows how much of a shit show it is.
Also not even replying about skiing. Shits opening back up, go send it. More just commenting on the crazy anger driven entitlement from some people. Meh
skiindianaLol dude what is with people like you and the 'better than everyone else' attitude.

PeppermillRenoHe moderates an internet forum so obviously loves being a virtual hall monitor with a bit of cyber power and likes rules, likes following rules, and most importantly likes telling others to follow the rules.
Corona just showed how much people like rules, following rules, and telling others to follow rules.
Unless we are talking about protests/riots where PC white guilters insult the black population and tell them all their problems are because of whites. The same folks who supported corona lockdowns and told us to hide inside think 20,000 people packed into small outdoor areas is cool.

skiindianaFor the record I have been out in the protests. I was against corona restrictions the same way I am against curfews for peaceful protests. It is all government overreach. The police are bullshit. People who tell you how best to live are always shit no matter the political spectrum.
I'm not blind to the irony of the same group of people telling everyone to stay inside currently going outside because they feel this matters more than a small business owner keeping their staff employed, but I think the George Floyd is an unbelievable incident and I'm proud to be in the crowd and stand up against piece of shit police. The hypocrisy of others does not impact my own personal views and actions.
Fuck the police. Fuck every US governor and their 'emergency orders'.

dgravesYo anyone ski crystal yet?? heard it was a little bare but would love to get some lift access terrain ski ridin in.
PeppermillRenoLike are you fucking kidding me having to listen to a table of 4 white sports broadcasters start their show by breaking down Drew Brees and what he did wrong? (And no shit this wasn't the week for Brees to say anything on that subject.)
skiindianaDude what he said made no fucking sense whatever the week... kneeling doesn’t ‘disrespect the flag’ and I still have no idea what the fuck that is supposed to me.
The flag is ‘about’ our rights. Which included free speech
skiindianaFor real though I didn't re-enter the thread to yell at mask-people, I was just wondering what is up with Palmer lift
PeppermillRenoI pretty much agree. But I don’t need to hear 4 white guys in the Boston sports media dissect how the Saints locker room will react to Brees apology.
The real question should be why do we have to have the anthem before every sporting event.
But it’s been going on for so long I guess it’s tradition. Getting rid of it would be like hockey going from 3 periods to 2 half’s. The anthem is also a much MUCH better song when it’s just the music and there’s no lyrics and dumbass singing it poorly. Back in the day a singer was rare and they just played an instrumental recording.
