skiindiana- Mt Hood Meadows has nothing on their site but if Timberline opens I assume they will too?
OCoffeymeadows pulled the plug a while ago
skiindianaYeah I checked that before I posted and I see the same. Some locals might have better info because originally even Timberline said they were closed for the season. I think as some stuff gets relaxed a few places might open. Still would be v surprised if Breck or Whistler had any lift service before the winter
Film.As a graduating college senior my life has been flipped outside down hard by coronavirus. Got furloughed and now likely laid off by my current job. My offer to work this summer at a job with a salary was rescinded, graduation canceled and I'm entering into the shittiest job market ever. My friends and I would like to take a trip to Timberline in late June if it's safe and we will take the upmost precaution in doing so. If I get the chance I will do it, I really don't care what anyone else thinks at this point. I stayed at home for months and will continue to do so, but I'd like to do this trip as a college send off we never got. I think we deserve it
We will use pay outside gas station pumps, wear masks the one time we go to the supermarket and stay secluded from everyone else camping in the woods. If you wanna argue that you "could" spread the virus through the air while ones skiing on the glacier go ahead, it's a dumb argument to make.
What we know is the virus doesn't transmit outside well at all, especially if you are 6 feet away. So with that in mind the virus could spread skiing outdoors, you could also get hit by a meteorite and die. Would I recommend you build a metal dome around your house to protect from meteors? No. Anyone in this thread arguing skiing outdoors in the sunshine is an effective way the virus can spread wears masks in their cars. Probably the same people who wanted beaches closed as well. Stay at home for the rest of time, the rest of the world will move on without you.

theabortionatorSweet. A bunch of people itching to travel cross county for late spring laps they wouldn't even care about other than the corona hype train. There's only a few mtns that aren't dead as fuck or closing in April. With all the posts on facebook, etc, you'd think most mountains were open till July and busy as fuck till the end.
Sure the memorial day jams get some traffic and a few mountains have some decent crowds into spring, but everything tapers off by then end of March early April most places. People just want what they can't have. People that barely skied bluebird days when the snow was decent in Feb till mid March, are now ready to drive across the country to ski slush for a day or two at any mtn they can pay too much to ski. People will do what they're gonna do but the logic seems fairly wut at best.
nmwninjartI was surprised to see that. I guess they found a loophole.
ParkRxBro I think you're lost. This isn't reddit or TGR, us NSers would be skiing to the bitter end.
EDIT: Not trying to get wrapped up in this isolate or not debate just stating the fax

cypherslet's all conjecture wildly based on inaccurate and incomplete testing statistics
Film.I say this too with a grandfather who died from pneumonia related complications from influenza. He had blood cancer and due to chemo his immune system was compromised. Did this stop him from living his life up until that point? Not at all he lived it up and spent every waking moment he could with family members he loved and ate at his favorite restaurants and went to church. He could've stayed hidden away forever but he deemed that life wasn't worth living. I'm confident if he were still around to this day suffering from blood cancer he'd encourage myself and everyone else to go out and live.
CLQThat's so brave of you to risk getting a disease that most likely won't harm your 20 something ass. You are so brave for going out there and helping spread a highly contagious disease that kills old people.
Film.I wish I could be as sanctimonious as you one day.

dirtydarbsHas anyone heard rumors about Whistler opening? I guess it wouldn't even matter to me since the border won't be opening any time soon but jw
john18061806I did a little bit of homework and oddly found that under Gov. Walz stay-at-home order that ski resorts actually do fall under the category of "essential businesses" because of outdoor recreation. But for what Wild Mountain is doing there should definitely be a line drawn because of how many people will be gathering in such a small space.
Not to mention how many nic-sticks will be getting shared, and how many attendees likely won't give a rat's ass about staying 6ft apart from one another. Plus everyone NEEDS to get their footy from the event so iPhones will be getting passed around like that cheerleader from your old highschool that had more STI's than even the health teacher could name.
Anyways..
ScootSkiLyfeYea no one was listening to the 6 foot rule at Wild. Me and that Michael_skis kid were the only ones with masks
skiindianaTimberline has officially announced they will reopen on Friday. No real surprising restrictions.
Must make an online reservation. They'll certainly greatly limit the number allowed on the mountain. Indoors you must wear a mask but that isn't very difficult when you're skiing. 6 foot distancing probably in lines - which I finad annoying because it does nothing when everyone is wearing a mask and no one is coughing, but hey, we're going to ski during COVID! Not much to complain about.
I'm going to watch the reservation availability over the weekend and during next week. If it looks like its not selling out too crazily and locals are getting plenty of opportunities then I'll definitely be there in the next few weeks. We were supposed to go to Denver next week, but their governor is on the fear train and we cannot camp alone in state parks.

skiindianaI love the new trend of scared bitches not understanding data and thinking they're better than everyone because they're a bunch of scared bitches.
You guys are going to judge everyone for living life until the news tells you its ok. Only then will it be 'ok' to go about your day. I for one will just ask your bitch ass for permission to do what I want.

JAHBRADOR‘Scared bitches’ ‘bitch ass’
very good use of wording to convince people your argument is worth listening to.
skiindianaYou're missing the point. I have no interest in 'arguing my point' with scared bitches who ride bikes and take walks wearing a mask when they're not sick. More than half the country is currently acting like they have a mental disorder related to germs.
My plan to do what I want within the bounds of the law. I don't wear a mask unless it is required. I don't stay home unless I feel sick. I'm one of the 'liberal' who think all the liberals are acting like a bunch of crazy people willing to do whatever the government or the news tells them.
Stay the fuck inside. You should be able to sustain yourself on your own smugness.
tcm.worldwidecigarettes kill more people than covid and I would like to smoke cigarettes at the ski hill
