For a little background I was wearing a very basic red marron Bolle helmet since 2003 or so and just switched to this Giro Union last year.

I can't stand the Giro and can't believe how much I spent on it -- I was a sucker for the included go pro mount (which I haven't even used). I find the helmet to not be very stylish - it seemed better in the store (to grandpa), inconsistent in terms of temp, and actually rather bulky (travel), but the really bad part is I can't hear well in it and there is SO much wind noise. I've actually taped over the little ear holes and even then it's not great and obviously can hear even less now. The adjustable vents also sometimes click around unless fully open.
I'm considering getting new goggles & helmet. I currently have a smith IO which has been pretty good over the past 12 or so years.
I'd really like something with a brim for the bright sunny days, fairly minimalistic, a bit smaller profile, and less grandpa but also not park teen (if that makes any sense). I have Oakley prizm sunglasses that I love (Rx) and was considering the Flight Deck (full size) and either Mod3 or Mod5 helmet. I was thinking all white to allow it to pair better with various other stuff and to get away from the all black look this time.
Anyone have any thoughts?
