I guess the best thing to do is spend on american goods at least. I already bought a wowgo 3 8Amp hour battery electric longboard and im waiting for it to arrive. But now i need to find something to spend the 1200 on.

im wondering how many pictures of dirty old men dressed up in womens lingerie i could afford for 1200 bucks...
fuck,, i hope at least like 4.

Not sure yet, but definitely trying to keep the money local. Just in general for the past year I've been trying to go to large national stores/amazon less, would much rather help out someone local even if it means spending a little more.
We've been ordering takeout from local restraunts once a week which is a lot for us. Got some home projects that need done, so probably that.

Well, if you qualified to get the check, then the smart thing to do would probably be to not spend it on something non-essential, but rather to save/invest it.

I would spend it on food and shelter while saving the rest for later. I dont get why people burn their money on dumb shit instead of thinking about saving for rainy days.

For me its just a 1200 scholarship for fall semester. Not buying myself anything I would not have without. Also, probably gonna get taxed on the stim checks so keep that in mind before dropping 1200 on something cause it seems practically free.

It's a stimulus check so I'd rather help stimulate the local economy since my financials are plenty stable. I'd encourage anyone else to do the same that doesn't need it for essentials.

So far I have bought a shovel from a local hardware store, to build jumps with, spent a bunch at the local print shop, and have eaten takeout WAY more than I ever would have. Lucky to have enough income right now that it doesn't have to go toward essentials, but definitely feel like it's a good idea to spend as much of it locally at businesses I care about as I can.

I went with 3200 instead of 3600 because I've never overclocked and knew I wouldn't be able to get the most out of the extra speed.

The memory was initially just the two WD drives BUT I got a $100 gift card and with the size of AAA titles these days (BL3 @43gb and Warzone @ 85gb) I knew I'd run out of memory quickly and didn't want to deal with moving files between SSD and HHD.

For the PSU, I wanted 750w+ BUT literally no one had any modular unit above 550 for sale ANYWHERE until god knows when. The RMx series is super strong though so I'm OK with it right now.

My one regret so far is the Meshify C. The GPU is BIG with 3 fans and I've got like ~mm or two of space between the GPU and CPU AIO.

I'll probably upgrade the PSU and case before anything else, but not in the nearterm. Spent enough $$ as is and I want a 144hz monitor.

That is beautiful. Wish I could afford a new PC. Biking and skiing are to expensive

Well seeing as the whole point of the check being issued was to be spent back into the economy/small business. I don’t think being fiscally responsible is a point worth making right now.

It all depends on ones situation. If they had plenty of savings before this, spend it, preferably on small businesses. If someone lost income and needs it to pay bills they should do that. If somebody wants to save or start saving for a time of unemployment they should do that.
