I'm in the market for a new whip. I like 90s and early 2000s cars the most. Anything newer than 2005 looks like shit imo. Probably going to buy an old volvo/vw but I know there are lots of sleepers out there so give me some suggestions. Has to come in manual. I'm going to wait for the pandemic to end before I buy anything of course.

Jeep cherokees in that era are pretty descent , 4x4 fir the snow and can sleep in the back, one that's been well maintained and not all modded out maybe and parts are American not that metric bullshit

Had a 2002 toyota 4 runner that lasted like 12 years and was great in the winter, you could probably find a pretty cheap one on craigslist or something

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the '95 Toyota 4skinner SR5 is the best rig there is. You gotta get it with the 22re though otherwise it's an underpowered gas sucker.

Buy a truck. Ranger or s10/Colorado are nice if you don’t need to carry/tow much weight.

It all depends on how you planning to live out of it.
Full time or part time.

If your gonna live full time it’s worth it to buy newer and outfitt with everything you need.

If your gonna live in it part time, (trips, weekends, chase storms) buy a decent cargo van and build a bed frame.

Buying a older van and just winging it is a recipe for disaster especially if this will your only mode of transportation.
I lived in my van for the last 4 summers to save money so I’m not just spouting BS.

Bro you should be getting at less a 2009 for 6k. Maybe 175k miles. You could get a BMW even dawg. It's not about repair costs, you pay for pussy either way broseph. Car is the quickest ticket.

Ford econline pre 2006 were fucking Awsome. Just hard to find with low miles or not beat to shit.

Depends where you live as well. Older larger vehicles can sometimes have trouble passing emissions test.
