Yo I'm in Miami. No snow but I am gonna become THE water skiier of newschoolers. Huge pivot. Fucking water skiing bitch. Who knows something about this? I tried it once and really sucked but I'm hoping to just get on these sticks and have like 2 Colombian hookers on my shoulders.
lean back really hard, and when you carve think about trying to play tug of war with the boat, even though it'll always win you want to be pulling against it as opposed to being dragged behind it
I learned how to slalom ski when I was like 9 years old. I was pretty much over it by about 20, it’s too fast and it hurts too much to crash. Also I am a huge pussy now and I just want to wakesurf and chill.
colorado style. get in shape. start on 2 skis and don't let the boat pull you forward...fight the pull and stand up like you're getting out of a chair.

I can lap buoys on a slalom ski course. The most ive made is 5 in a row. You have to literally murder the turns like this which is fun because your slalom ski kicks up hella water like in this picture

I dont really remember what speed my brother had the boat at but i assume 25-30. Which means the speed i would get up to in between buoys was probably at least 50. In this video the boat is going 36 so the guy is probably hitting 60-65+.

idk why you'd water ski. Wakeboarding's were its at. It is super intuitive and if you're in decent shape you can bounce turns and pop the wake a lil your first day out. Never tried water skiing but it seems like it'd just fuckin murder you when you fell on two skis.

Waterskiing on two skis is hella linear if ur being towed by a boat. Its the entry level watersport for people who want to advance past tubing and kneeboarding... the hardest part is getting up, and then you kind of just stand there. When you go one ski it's a little more free, but its nothing like wakeboarding in terms of creativity and options.

i have a lot of skiing and boardsport experience but ive only done each sport twice and i thought both were the same, standing up is a little tricky and then it's shockingly easy and really fun
i do agree that slashing the wake is more fun on a board tho, similar to the way a simple turn on a snowboard is a little more exhilarating than a simple turn on skis

Wakeboarding is sick for a while but eventually you're going to want a proper boat with a boom that can make a wake big enough to throw actual tricks. You can rip carves on water skis behind pretty much anything with a motor

Usually it’s fine, but the speed is there for concussions no doubt. One time my buddy took a spill over the nose of his ski coming out of a cut and his back foot released out of his binding and somehow in the process of getting rag dolled the fin ran over his foot and cut it super bad. If you can avoid face smacking or getting taken out by your ski it’s usually nbd to crash.
