I've been dodging buying a ski that I actually need on the east coast. I'm either getting Armadas Strangers or K2s Reckoner 102s this year.

My Iast/current pair of skis are edollos and I really don't have any complaints about them

The Candide’s are where faction got their shit reputation from. Prodigy series are the most durable skis I’ve ever had.

I'd recommend the Faction Prodigy 1.0s. I love mine. Only issue so far is edge cracks so if you're hitting rails every lap of every day something with thicker edges or edgeless might be better. I find them stable yet lively and versatile.

I enjoyed skiing thigh deep tree powder more on my center mounted Wet +'s than my JJ Zeros... They float so well for how narrow they are but if you're set on something wider I'm sure wide would float better but sacrifice some of the quick turning that the Wets have.

Haven't tried the skis listed

I found the combination of being stupidly soft and really wide a lot of fun. But then half my sidewall ripped out and I broke one of them in two places and got a million edge cracks so I kinda half and half agree disagree with you

What’re you mostly looking to do with the skis? I was eyeing some Lib Tech UFOs and some Majesty Vandal 3.0s before I pulled the trigger on a deal I saw. As far as Prodigy’s - I never had issues with durability. However, I had the 2016 version before they went went 1/2/3.

I see on your profile you’re in PA area. I just saw another thread on NS where the guy talks about how the Magnus 102 has an aggressive detune for East coast and it makes it hard to grip. Just something to think about. Good luck with your search.

https://www.libertymountainresort.com/ is my home mountain and I work park crew so I don't even really get to ski the hill so im just looking for a soft surfy ski. My current skis are edollos and they were nice but im just ready for a longer wider ski and I think I wouldn't mind the ski even being softer. I've pretty much decided on the vishnus.

You gotta give use more info about your skiing dawg!

if you’re a beginner or fairly new to park forget most of what you’re looking at. Get something that’s light, easy to ski, and with a neutral flex/rocker profile. Line twall, older Chronics, blend. ARV. Poacher. Faction candide/prodigy

if you’re getting good, like cork/flat spins and rail spins on and off and switch ups and stuff then something more niche like an ON3P, Edollo, Moment, Poacher would be killer. But it all depends on your style. Some skiers like me are pretty traditional while others are more swervy and new wave or whatever but it depends on what you’re after.

Personally I would avoid Vishnu unless it’s exactly what you’re looking for and you can handle a ski like that. Don’t be a poser and buy it bc the cool kids have them. But if that’s your style then I’m not gonna stop you.

You do you man! But remember that Vishnus are a super niche ski. They do one thing really well and aren’t too great otherwise. If you get them you get them but if you don’t you don’t. Happy shoppin dawg!
