Trump has threatened to suspend both houses of Congress unless the Senate starts to blindly push through his nominees, instead of properly vetting them as outlined in the Constitution. This is despite the fact that Trump's administration has had more vacancies and "acting" positions than any other administration in U.S. history since taking office.

This is in addition of Trump claiming unilateral power by forcing governors to "open" up their state's economies against the advice of every expert in the field of epidemiology while pushing false narratives like the U.S. has already peaked in cases of COVID-19. In essence, Trump claims states do not have any right to govern themselves.

I remember reading awhile back in some 1988 mag. that Trump would be the last president of the United States. Big if true.

That being said, the United States is NOT a democracy and was never suppose to be a democracy!

The US was founded on true liberalism and republicanism. It was suppose to be a constitutional republic, and not the fuedal bureaucratic centralized government run on permanent public debt that Jefferson and Jackson warned the America people about; but a 30 year Princeton study has proved that the US is now an Oligarchic Corportocracy. Some might say a plutocratic kakistocracy run on crony-capitalism.

Trump is a neo-Hamiltonian Lauditudian constructionist so it would only be necessary for him to shit on the constitution. Most governors, in fact, have been the minions of the executive; superseding local contraventions through continued governance and emergency statues.

There is something called the presidential emergency action document that does give him power in times of crisis. It is very secret and nobody really knows what it entails. Also federal law trumps state law even if it isn’t honored in that state.

People need to get back to work as you can see from all the protests. You think you’re just going to sit back and collect stimulus checks every month? Our government is nothing without our economy. Regardless, nothing is being forced on you.

Would also like to point out that governors do in fact get control in how their states reopen. He explicitly said this in the press briefing where he explained his recommendations for reopening. Not sure why he said otherwise a few days ago but Im not surprised.

Well yes, but also, saying white people are just as smart as poor people doesn't do you any favors. Confusing your wife with your sister, sniffing children, etc. I could pull a lot of video clips of both candidates doing stupid shit. The fact there are no debates is in his favor. Not that trump is a superstar in debates, either, but yikes. I still don't even know what he stands for, but maybe that's a lack of paying attention to informative news.

The world is made up of PEOPLE in COMMUNITIES and these communities need to take care of each other I'm sick of watching white privilege mfs argue about losers in suits who don't do shit . Politicians don't make the future and the govt shouldnt be a surrogate parent to everyone . People in the thread talking about "pay attention".... Ok .. to what .. people have the most articulate sophisticated righteous political views but then have the emotional intelligence and worldview of a 12 year old at best . You wanna be middle road take a look at the rest of history and the world if you really wanna pay attention . It's important to be as emotionally unstable as you can in politics, that way your party always wins.

We are global citizens now. China is a wonderful country with strong privacy laws and features a wonderful plethora of US multi-national corporations. We should learn from their approach and usher in the beautiful totalitarian utopia everyone has been dying to live in.

Our government is our community. The State, our creator.
