Mag 102 + shift

Love the idea of the shift, I was going to get them on wildcat 108s, but after I read some reviews, a lot of people had problems with them breaking and being kinda sketch, idk though

Yeah I love em. I have a pair on a CT 3.0 and it’s a killer binding, doesn’t feel any different than my alpine bindings on the way down and it walks really well on the up!

Got shifts on my Kartel 108s and love them. Definitely a bit on the heavy end for tours but worth it on the way down! No issues with the shift beyond some bad icing gumming up the switch from one mode to another on occasion. Downhill I don’t notice any difference.

As for the Mags I’m not sure I’d want a near-centre mount and detuned edges in the backcountry, but depending on what you’re planning to do and the conditions you typically face they could make for some fun. The detune is pretty real - don’t expect to be able to lay into a carve on harder snow the same way you would on a ski with tuned edges. You get used to it though and it’s not an issue in softer snow! They’ll be playful skis all over.

Right on brotha good advice, got em in the mail today and the detune is CRAZY. I did detune an older pair of park sticks but I haven’t skied them yet. The Mags are gonna be my soft snow daily ski/touring/very occasional park ski. Soft snow/pow, I don’t need to worry about the detune as much do I?

Yeah not as much a worry in softer snow at all. Slush, chop or pow you probably will barely notice.

Day 1 on my detuned Jeff 96s I took a good hip check to a patch of harder snow, but it wasn’t really an issue any other day of the season. You can practice steezy side-slipping when you find those patches haha.
