ski.loonThat's what makes it great. Either 40 and sunny or -5, windy, and rain in the afternoon.

I was gonna say, I grew up in Switzerland where weather and conditions were usually pretty solid. Now I’ve been at UNH for 3 years and I’ve found myself skiing on days I never would’ve considered it back home. East Coast skiers really do live up to their reputation of being the most hard core fuckers ever

Why does everyone hate the rain? If you dress for it, then you have a whole mountain to yourself, slippery rails, and soft snow.

partyandBSPower hungry yellow jackets. I actually like most yellow jackets and in extremely poopulated areas I get it. But when the run is wide open and im just cruisin switch on the side near NO ONE i dont need some boomer who failed at raising his kids to threaten my ski privligages.

I also hate the negative environmental impacts there are for something that connects people to nature.


Its frustrating dealing with yellow jackets like that sometimes when you're a coach or work for a ski program that isnt necessarily affiliated with the resort in terms of a "ski school" or ski team like other resorts have. Sometimes they'll wait for you to ski ahead of your groups as your heading down to the bottom of the chair so that they can pop your kids and write them up, so you naturally become a more defensive skier on the lookout for stuff. Its sometimes hard to tame some teenager boys which I will admit but honestly almost all of these kids followed every single rule known to man on the mountain, we made sure of that, yet we still ran into a few yellow jackets just bent on meeting quotas or something. You cant win. Just smile, say yes sir/ma'm, and make sure to grab their name just in case they try to spin the story differently to their superiors when you follow up with their mountain safety department.


I think the congestion issues now in mountain towns and at ski resorts go without saying, but I dont really like the attitudes or the vibes of the crowds coming in. Lots more rude bratty entitlement from people who just started skiing on trips less than 5 years ago. Its gotta stop.

I moved to Denver from the East coast and have a much greater appreciation for good snow, weather. There are days out here that are "cold" that are days I would ski back home without thinking twice

Golfers pain is not getting a tee time they like or having a bad shot. Skiers pain is slamming their ribs into a rail dozens of times learning a 4 on or falling from 20 feet up learning corks.

Getting ready.

I absolutely dread awkwardly buckling my ski boots in some resort parking lot. The alternative is to clear space in a random corner of the lodge while thirty people breath down your neck, trying to steal your spot when you go to the hill.

Second worst part is walking from the car to the lift with all of your gear, or in ski boots if you get ready in the lot. Don’t even get me started if I have to take a fucking shuttle bus.

East Coast conditions. Always cold and/or icy, get one or two powder days a year, and half the time the weather sucks. I guess it's just what we got to do for skiing.

Ski buddies who wear headphones while riding so even though I'm 2 feet away from them they can't hear me say, "YOOO YOU'RE BOUT TO MISS THE TRAIL BACK TO OUR LIFT".

i must admit that recently i've become a little envious of people whose chief hobby isn't as risky

don't get me wrong, the D A N G E R is part of skiing and i love it. but now that i'm an Office Bitch and can't afford to dick over my family by getting hurt skiing, i find myself wishing i could try something difficult without risk of harm, like a golfer could try the same shot 100 times or a guitarist can practice a lick all day without any worry about injury or bills

imagine if you could try dub corks all day without any risk!

Ok. When the lift line is packed and some how two goober kids fuck shit up so they can have thier own chair for themselves.. also. When skiers won't ride the chair up with snowboarders and vise versa.

Or when I get on the chair and the person next to me goes on a Jesus rant. Like. Yo Jesus didn't ski.

Parents who refuse to let their kids fall when they are learning..( as a instructor this grinds my gears)

I'll be in the lift line and hear them behind me saying if they had my gear they would be as good as me too. in the end it comes down to the smart ass marketing dude at faction that puts it into their heads.

that i have to travel to do it. i love skating since i can just go out and skate, but with skiing you have to load your car, drive to the hill, change boots and all that dumb shit. I JUST WANNA GO SKI!
