Thoughts on Republicans forcing in person voting during a global pandemic?

cyphersnot really sure what the GOPs motive is here. like the only race that's contested is the dem primary, and i don't see how low voter turnout would skew the result? and even if it does i'm not sure how it affects the republicans one way or another

assuming i'm not missing something here this seems like a totally unnecessary decision

The Governor asked them (I say them since most all of that state is GOP) to make it 100% an absentee vote last week and it was totally impractical with the time frame.

So that's the reason, but I don't really buy into there not being a way to delay a couple weeks or something in order to accommodate a safer game plan. I think people have just done too much work and are too committed to call a spade a spade and admit it's a bad idea. I see the same thing at my job when a young guy has busted his ass all week only to realize he should cancel his project for safety and he doesn't want to.

The media is latching onto this though, there's not much else for them to report with everyone watching Netflix.

Dustin.To be fair, COVID-19 was not a Wisconsin problem 4 weeks ago and they didn't really know if it would be. Cancelling/moving/going absentee on the election would have looked like a massive overeaction back then.

As the saying goes though, today's over reaction is tomorrows under reaction. I'm pretty annoyed to see stories like this turn into another partisan shit throwing contest (reference the title of this thread). This stuff is divisive and unproductive, and it's going to be the theme of the next decade unfortunately.

Republicans know a majority of people are fucking done with their bullshit which is why the last two Republican presidents won with less votes- Trump by a historic 3 million loss. This is why Republicans are the leaders in disenfranchising voters by passing bullshit laws to make it harder to vote. This is why Republicans are the leaders in gerrymandering districts so they gain more reps. despite having less votes.
