BiffbarfThe 106's or 96's will likely be a better for ya, icy landings on features with wide skis can suck balls.

scratchskier321dont use JJ's in the park.
is the only answer.
lol
scratchskier321from your description it sounds like you need arv 96 or bentchetler 100
CalumSKInot 100s
not the most ideal for hitting rails constantly
it would clap ur edges

scratchskier321plenty of videos of Wells' brothers, jonah etc crushing rails on the 100's
CalumSKIthe ski isnt a park ski tho is it?
i could hit rails on my 120s, but its not ideal right?
animatorYo OP don’t listen to da haters. Lmao jokes aside tho, I feel the wider daily ski. My daily (and only) ski for all 4 years of high school was 122 underfoot. I skied it everywhere, including the park. Definitely not an ideal park ski for learning technical tricks but it did the job. A JJ would be fine in the park if you’re comfortable with a ski that wide. My park ski and the skinniest ski I own (and actually use) is 102 because I don’t like skinny skis as much. My daily is 112 and I live on the east coast. The JJ would be fine, the main thing you would need to watch is the edges, since they are 2.0mm. Not as wide as some park skis, you’d want to be careful with them. Other than that, have at it man! Wide skis in the park are super fun, they sort of surf and flow around. Let me know how it goes!
Padagucci1920My buddy I ski with has been through multiple pairs of surface outsiders which are technically a dedicated pow ski which is what has kinda got me thinking about hoping on that wave. I know anything much over 100 is over kill for east coast (I ride at 7springs) Im kinda looking at this as one ski I can take with me anywhere in the world and not have to worry because even on some days here I wish I had more float than I get with my current setup. Im not totally set on the pow ski thing just looking into it a bit so I can make a decision for next season. durability is definitely one of my main concerns. Ive never really even wanted to be a super tec rail skier I just like smooth clean style so I'm not to worried about it effecting my rail game.
jimmy.beakWord is the 2020-2021 are stiffer and have fatter edges so they're gonna be even sicker in the park. I would ride my JJs last season from the top of the mountain through steep cliffy shit then hit rails at the bottom.
Padagucci1920I did hear the new ones are stiffer, what year are yours because I do think I would prefer a softer ski so its more playful with butters and things like that, ?
KilaTsunamiThey looked incredible in person, their the ones that caught my eye. Too bad im East coast and have zero use for a phat ski like that. Anyone east coast ride a set of JJ's? We never get pow.

Padagucci1920To clear things up a bit I am currently riding a pair of J whipits which are 90 underfoot. I have just been interested in getting something wider and more versatile all mt yet still fun to ski switch and hit the park on, to kinda become my daily driver. Im just looking for a playful ski with some float.
SkylineGTR_R32Pretty much this whole thread you've been describing Jeffery/Kartel 108s
Padagucci1920I just don't like how stiff on3p skis are without a custom order pair
SkylineGTR_R32Have you tried a pair?
The rocker makes them insanely playful: more so than most of the skis that have been mentioned without the need for soft flex. The stiffness isn’t really as bad as most say and it means you can blast through crud and ski really hard. They are also just about the most durable ski you can buy, although durability with a freestyle ski is always a toss up.
Im just saying don’t let stiffness scare you bc they’re super sick skis and they perfectly encompass what you’re looking for

Padagucci1920Has anyone ever ridden ar116 jj's in the park especially for any significant amount of time. Im looking for something that I can rip the entire mountain on that is roughly between 100-115 underfoot and pretty playful but not noodles. Thought the JJs might be an interesting option. Im open to other recommendations but I'm mainly looking to find out how the jj's perform in the park.
KilaTsunamiOn3ps were also unfortunately the staple ski for The "I suck but my gear doesn't" Kid at pretty much every mountain i went this year lol
SkylineGTR_R32I was hiking a rail early season and this kid showed up completely decked out. He had Magnus 102s with forza Pivot 18s and an outfit that prob costs more than my entire setup and I was like damn okay.
turns out he couldn’t even do rails😂. After he crashed trying to slide it he looked right at me and said,”look I know I’m a poser.” I couldn’t help but laugh.
But I think regardless of skill a good ski is a good ski and I think it’s a viable option for OP

Padagucci1920Another thing with my ski choices is I really try to stay away from big companies armada is the most corporate company I think id ever go for. Like I would never really want get voekl or K2 really just because I like supporting smaller companies.
animatorArmada mass produces skis almost as much as Volkl and K2 do, they just don’t make as large a variety as the others.
Padagucci1920Yea I know but it's one of the most core large companies out there. I prefer smaller companies but armada makes some dope skis that I like and can support the company behind them. Like K2 is somewhat tempting cuz the poacher seems like a dope ski and I have a pair of recoils I got for dirt cheep and they were from a friend. I just like supporting companies and people I can get behind.
