100th ON3P Mag 102 thread

They are stiff. I actually think my jefferys are slightly softer than my Magnus 102s. They take some getting used to if you like to keep an aggressive forward stance. Lots of rocker. Such a fun ski I’ve never been popped out of a butter so hard like they do.

Do you mean that they will feel weird if I typically ski with an aggressive forward stance? I’ve been riding twin tips my whole life so I ski fairly centered except for my CT 3.0s which I can lean forward a little bit more.

The biggest difference you’ll probably feel Coming over from a less park oriented setup are the edges being detuned (ON3P has a very aggressive one). I ski in the east and went from a 178 faction to the 181 magnus. The difference in edge grip was substantial and I was lucky to be able to switch to the jeffrey which doesn't come with a factory detune. If you ski in better conditions this might be a no factor but good to keep in mind. Dont let this take away from the ski itself, there’s a reason almost everyone on this site and tgr likes them.

Which faction are you coming off of? I had a 2020 178 2.0 which was an awesome ski it was just too short for me. Do you mean the edge grip on the Mag is less (I would assume so because of the detune)?

I’m coming off the 2015 178 soma so the closest comparison would probably be the Prodigy 1.0. The lower grip of the mag compared to the Soma was probably 95% because of the detune and the rest due to the shorter effective edge (@181) and lower camber.
