"Goggles for Docs is an effort to get used or new ski goggles into the hands of healthcare workers who currently have no eye protection as they treat COVID-19 patients."

Is this legit?
Yes. The original request came by way of an ER physician who is a department head at a large NYC hospital ED. His aunt is a race coach who works at Catamount Ski Area. We created a share system whereby the hospitals add themselves to a master list.



What guidelines should I follow to donate safely?
Be sure to follow these guidelines if you drop off or mail goggles.



Tinted or clear lenses?
Either. They have nothing. Dark lenses are better than a COVID cough to the face.



Used or new goggles?
Most of these goggles will be used. Again, used lenses are better than a COVID cough to the face.



How fast should I ship?
Overnight. They need them now.



Will other hospitals join?
Yes! Keep checking the state list.



Can I help?
Absolutely. Right now we need regional coordinators and drop off locations.

really loving the idea of a doctor wearing all-black oakleys

i'd donate mine but i only have one pair currently and no money to be buying new goggs any time soon

if this works, hospitals should be buying crates of bargain bin goggles, they can be really cheap for the super low-end models

Yeah honestly some of those cheap ones look and prolly are just as good as the expensive ones.

yeah as long as the air flows well they can be just fine. tanner used to wear the low end Oaks sometimes, the E frames or O frames, i forget. some days i'd rather have two pairs of aight goggles than one pair of nice ones

I was looking through their google doc and it seems like brands are sending lots of goggles which is dope to see.

The goggles I sent were a spare that I'd let my Jerry friends borrow over the years.

They'll serve a bigger purpose now.

Masks should be a tight seal. That's why you do fit testing with n95's. Goggles won't matter for the airflow as long as they have top and side protection. Goggles would work but just be a little harder to clean.

Masks are dope but health care workers are using these goggles.

Jlev posted a bunch the other week about making masks and shields for workers. If you have the abilities check that out. If you have extra goggles you don't want, send them in.
