Fastest wax that is also durable? (For christmas time park city conditions)
As we all know christmas is just around the corner and its time to start fucking around and playing dress up with our ski equipment and i thought id start by waxing my skis. Is there a problem with having a really thick layer of wax on the base of the ski? I mostly just let the shop guys wax my skis but ive waxed them plenty of times by myself for fun.
I like having a thick layer of wax so my edges dont stick out like those double blade ice skates you see on disabled kids at the ice rink.
is there a problem with using a mound of wax on your base, as long as its smooth and flat?
your edges shouldn't stick out relative to the base. if they do you need a base grind or something i think
and having lots of wax on the skis is fine for storage but for skiing the idea is to have none of it sticking out or anything, that's why you scrape and some people brush-- to remove every bit of excess wax
obviously it isn't the end of the world if you don't do that part perfectly but it will be suboptimal for the skis' performance and supposedly it will speed up the wax coming out of your bases
also i think you forgot to ask something about fast vs durable wax. i have no clue about that, i just buy different temp waxes and just as often use "all condition" stuff which i assume is just a medium kind of deal

Goat semen is the fastest wax but in order to achieve maximum durability you need to obtain the freshest semen you can. I like to ski where mountain goats roam so I don't have to bring my own.
Sorry man. I thought zogs only made sticky wax for using on surfboards. I didnt know they made wax for ski/board bases, and i thought you were trolling me.

DominatorJacques got me sold on dominator wax. Very expensive though compared to other brands. Swix is good too. Don't buy shitty indie brands unless they have a decent reputation. I learned that the hard way. Anyway dominator wax is super hard and lasts a while, very fast. Tbh I don't enjoy the waxing process because it's so tedious to scrape and brush. Fucking workout but the wax is gud
