Please don't go ski Tucks

apparently tons of out of state people are sending it to tucks right now. Like many of you, I am still skiing, but I'm being super cautious, not skiing in any avalanche terrain, and staying as local as possible. I just found an abandoned logging road across the street from where I live and that's the only place I'm going to ski until it melts. Would I have rather gone to tucks yesterday? Obviously, but there is honestly no way to ski down the ravine that I would consider "low risk." In addition, Tucks attracts tons of kooks so even if you're being safe there's a good chance someone who has no business being up there falls above you, can't self arrest, and crashes into you. I've seen it happen multiple times there.

Go outside, be healthy, but stay local and don't send it!

Chron_Rabbityou can get corona virus twice. you're not immune just because you had it once.


I don't think we know that yet, but there should be a duration of immunity after recovering assuming the strain is the same

I always get a lot of down votes here but holy shit what a day out here , expected slush but lucked into about a foot of what dreams are made of, no one out here either , while tucks is a bad idea go get yours at your local mountain!

I always get a lot of down votes here but holy shit what a day out here , expected slush but lucked into about a foot of what dreams are made of, no one out here either , while tucks is a bad idea go get yours at your local mountain!


I can’t speak for others but I’m assuming the downvotes are from a lot of people’s thought that’s it’s questionable to ski rn incase you get hurt and take up already scarce hospital resources. Glad you enjoyed the storm, looks killer! Stay safe out there if you insist on continuing to ski, it’s honestly the selfish choice rn

Luckily the chance of getting hurt bad enough to need a hospital bed (or a visit to the hospital at all) while skiing fresh snow on closed resort runs is about as close to zero as is possible.

I just don’t think there is anything wrong with hiking and taking a run down with no one around! I advocate so people can stay happy and sane without anyone else around, your risk of spreading the virus is 0 with no one around and your risk of getting hurt is negligible if you ski within your abilitiy

to be fair though, we have had only 2 hospitalizations in this part of maine cause of the virus so I doubt it's much a crisis at the local hospital here right now.

@galardogod dude, just go skiing in your backyard and don't post about it online. If you're really just skiing to stay sane (like I am) then it shouldn't matter weather people see it or not. Tucks is shut down because too many people had a gung-ho attitude and traveled to ski. Please just ski in your backyard.

he's not trolling, he's a trump supporter who has gone back and forth on the coronavirus like 10 times. Half the time it's a democratic hoax and all the young people just need to get herd immunity the other half of the time it's stay at home.
