50KalMight of been talking about a bike trail or cross country ski. That would make way more sense.
hoodratz47Uh that sounds brutal. Hiking up to 14000. And the. Riding a gnarly avy MTN
loshBut if it’s 18 miles. It’s fuckin worth
50KalIm no mathematician but 14,000ft to 8,000ft (leadville elevation) over 18 miles (93,000 vertical feet) = a super low slope meaning slow and not fun especially when you include ungroomed snow for the distance as well.
Is there a super long trail that goes into Leadville? Probably but its not 18 miles. Prove me wrong.
TRVP_ANGELman was on xcountry skis and tights for sure
loshLol homie was “pro for 9 years” also and had gapped Loveland pass “at leas hundreds of times”. So I took what he said with a grain of salt to say the least. But who knows 🤷🏾♀️ I don’t think this guy knew what cross country skiing was lol

mattytruthis sounds like an entertaining interaction
SofaKingSickleadville is right about 10k. i don't know anything about this trail though
50KalWhoops Im wrong again.
I know Leadville has the highest airport in North America so I had to look it up. It's 9,927ft.
Then I had to think where I pulled 8,000ft from so went and looked at Gunnison,CO airport which has the highest commercial airlines which is almost 8,000ft.
Guess I shouldn't be posting under the influence.
blazeonyiaHe may have been talking about a thru-hike mission (look it up). It's impossible to hike up Mt. Massive, ski down, and have 18 miles under your belt, even round trip. He is probably talking about a ski tour where you head up and ski/hike deeper into the mountain range and end up on the other side.
There are routes like this and you can certainly rack up 18 miles+ over the course of your journey, just not one up and down trip on Mt. Massive. People that do this are experienced to say the least. Thru-hikers are the guys on forums talking about ultra-ultra-light weight everything. They kill it but it's a rabbit hole of 'ounce differences in jacket weight being a life or death decision' type discussions.
loshHe wasn’t exactly that type lol. His beard prolly weighed 5 pounds lol. He said 3 miles up 18 down. He didn’t get too specific tho. But I think he prolly a lil full of it
