LIST- Ski resorts still open

Edit: Recommendation: stay home. If you desire to ski, don't fucking travel. If you travel, you better have enough gas and room in your bladder to not touch anything but your home, your car, and your skis. That is all.

Decided to make this to help those in search of turns. Open snow also has a list so scrapped the list for their continuously updated list in the link below.

-Uphill travel at eastern resorts? Unlikely but reaching out.
-It will be tempting but do not enter backcountry or avalanche terrain without proper knowledge and gear.
-After multiple comments below, consider your risk to yourself and transmission to others if you are traveling. Please weigh the societal and personal risks to your desire to ski/board. If you choose to venture out be smart and follow good hygiene precautions and limit access to lodges and rest stops/gas. Ride lifts alone.

Hopefully everyone keeps traveling all over to ski. That should help all the efforts for sure. Seems best to just stay local and ride your home turf if open, or hike something if it isn't.

A fuck ton of people from the bay came up to ski this weekend. Not the best thing right now. They probably should have closed a day or too earlier to make sure that didn't happen.

It sucks because tahoe finally got some snow, but with how serious this shit show seems to be, containing it is far more important. Better safe than sorry.

I'm looking forward to shopping like a normal human after the weekend and doing some touring with my friends. I'm bummed that the season might be done, I saved 3 homewood, 4 boreal, and 4 tahoe donner tickets to enjoy a nice spring at various mtns. I also have an epic and diamond peak pass. Coming back from 3 weeks off for a concussion I've been super stoked about spring. That said this situation is pretty fucked and I'm just hoping people stay healthy.

Skiing is great, but seems like the best move is to stay at least somewhat local at this point.

I asked a patroller at the loaf today if uphill access was good to go, he told me there would be nobody around to stop you after a couple days and everything is shut down. "It will be a ghost town" were his exact words. There is still snow on saddleback right now too but I'm not sure how long that will last.

As far as I know most of the small community hills in maine will spin lifts for a couple more weekends

pretty sure diamond is closed until next friday. I skied at tahoe donner today and it was literally too deep to ski. Its a real bummer but theres plenty of Bc options, just be safe.

SUNSHINE VILLAGE is open & beautiful

we are bleaching the fuck out of everything including the gondola cabins. also only loading the gondola party by party ie you load with the people you came with. come by yourself ride by yourself. made for a slow line today but worth it to be open cause it was the nicest day all year.

from what I know most of the CWSAA(western canada) resorts are staying open until it's unfit. silverstar is so far the only one that has pulled the plug just to follow vail's precedent.

I get the point of this thread, but at the same time, the last thing we need is a bunch of dirtbag skiers driving 8 hours to ski somewhere so they can post it on the gram.

stay local. It’s a small personal recreational sabbatical to save lives and mitigate potential long term consequences.

show the government we can be trusted to make good choices so they don’t weld our doors shut like they did in Wuhan.

No doubt, its the same thing as assessing avalanche terrain or sizing up some gnarly feature. You got plenty of time to ski in the future so don't fuck this up, just walk away.

Also, recreational sabbatical is a great term

got to imagine Lake, Sunshine, Castle and Marmot closing this week. Irresponsible to attract the continent's pow hungry skiers to your region. A friend who patrols at Sunshine says he talked to a family from Ontario with kids out of school. He doesn't get it.
