At first, I was heartbroken, but now that I'm reading the news it looks like it could be to just keep all the stupid Jerrys out and save the resorts from end-of-season turmoil in the form of even more unexpected circumstances (like tall their employees getting sick and not being operational, or being unsafe because of low staff, etc). The closure is for a week, effectively TRASHING out of staters vacation plans (win for Colorado).

Unfortunately, all of the publications are written like shit and for some reason specifies Alterra, but then points out only Steamboat and Winter Park, but makes no mention of Eldora's status? I'm just hoping even if these fuckers close I can still hike up, I'll tell them I've got coronavirus if they try to kick me off the property.

Im fucking bummed. I have two kids and didnt get to ski at all this year and had a Cat Skiing trip planned at Monarch with my Dad on the 21st. This was literally my one day to ski this year and go big with it. Well, at least the mountains will be here next year.

I hear you brother. Its super shitty. Got my daughter a new pair of skis literally last night. Guess they'll still fit next year.

Got to Telluride for spring break with family & kids(planned 6 months ago); skied the morning it was nice and got everyone's rental gear sorted out in the afternoon for our lesson tomorrow. Doh!
