i did finally see one person wear them in real life one time... he had those boots, Line Weapons (the ones with grind plates), and the soul grind plate line made back then. to 12 year old me he looked like the skiing equivalent of a special forces operator with all the dope gear lol
I just wish I had bought the soul plate at the time....
The short lived Merelli ski mountaineering race boots (like those La Sportiva's posted above). Unique because the walk mode lever was on the front, rather than the back. I was surprised to see a pair of these in person.

haha, nice! i made the mistake of giving away my mike nick pros, the blue ones model year 2000 ish. i think i saw the soul plate in my dad's garage a couple months ago actually...not sure why i owned one since i've never done or considered doing a soul grind in my life... but let me know if you think i should send it over to you so this setup can be complete haha

it's when you grind a dope rail for yourself and the love of the game, not for money or fame
naw it's a rollerblade grind. i think it's front foot on the rail like we would normally, back foot is parallel to the rail and resting on the lip of the boot's sole next to the chassis or whatever that thing is called. this bad description will be helped by the attached image courtesy of google
the Line soul plate provided that lip because obviously a ski and boot don't have that same 90 degree corner to put on the rail. it was just a steel piece that you screwed on top of the binding (under your boot) so that lip stuck out for soul grinds. fwiw i never saw one used lol, i can't even find a picture of it online right now
no worries, i'll check next time i'm there and if i find it i'll ask for your address and send it over, so your setup can be complete and be preserved for posterity/skiboard museums in the future

These looked so good new, but since fading, they're almost brown and look kinda weird. The 2014's might be my favorite boot design next to the 2012 Wallisch hot doggers. Wanted them so bad but could only afford the black and green FT classics.

I cant believe you fit in both nordicas and technicas. I tried the agents and they straight up did not Fit my foot/ankle type. Nordicas fit me like a wet dream tho. I assume u liked the nordicas better, as they are like the bentley arnage of ski boots.
I never had the agents, just admired them. I did end up in Cochise pros a few boots ago but they took quite a bit of boot fitting work.

Here, I explained it poorly earlier in the thread. Roller blade grind that this Line part (circa 2000 ish) tried to enable on ski boards. Those black ones hoodratz posted were called the Line Weapons and they had a grind plate underfoot with a bit of a notch like a rollerblade would
