Is there nothing resorts can do to keep Jerry out of the park?

BST_PoliceIt's unreal. I won't even pretend to be a park skier. Rails and me got a divorce long ago and straight airing jumps and attempting 3's are about the only thing I'll do. Otherwise I stay out of the park.

I'm bringing this up because I'm riding the chairlift at 7 Springs watching whole families roll over the knuckles, stopping on landings, etc, in their LARGE FEATURE park and recording it.... Like what the fuck. There's plenty of other trails with similar slopes. You being complete fucking idiots puts you and others at risk, not to mention being an inconvenience.

Ohio sucks, 5min up a lift to ride 15sec down a 10deg slope just doesn't do anything for me. I travel a lot... Gonna be at Snowshoe probably next Monday or Tuesday the 17th

snowdaynwi once had a vail worker tell me if it were up to him he’d have a 30ft pole jam with spikes underneath it for the entrance to the park. that way it would let good people in the park and kill the degenerate swines who can’t do anything that try to get in.

fr tho there has to be some system to keep people out. summit at snoqualmie used to have a park pass system which was annoying as hell but was at least 50% effective for keeping racer kids out.

If you fall in the gap then have it lead to a blue run which you have to sadly crawl over to whilst reconsidering whether you’re actually a level 3 skier or whether your dad just bigged you up a bit much at the ski rental shop

bogustmy park has a pass were you pay 5 dollars for the season and sign a waiver, but if you look like you ski park they don't care the people who enforce it only kick out jerries.

DeebieSkeebiesTheres just not enough education for resort guests when it comes to buying tickets, navigating the mtn, etc. But also most people out on vacation to ski really dont give a shit about the rules to begin with so lets not kid ourselves. They dont want to take the time out of their vacation to learn something. Rules dont apply to them, they just spent X or Y amount of money.

freeski/freeride teams are pretty good at teaching their kids the etiquette of park riding, calling drops, hitting features as-is and not as side jumps, etc, at least from what ive seen. I have a major issue with race teams going through the park however without coach guidance or even worse with a coach, cutting people off, not calling drops, and training the jump knolls for whatever reason. I had a few of my kids get deliberately cut off yesterday bombing into a jump and that kind of shit right there is just down-right dangerous. Anyone okay with that kind of behavior needs to re-evaluate stuff and stop skiing before they hurt others.

420ganjamanThe Spot at 7 Springs use to require a park pass and they should have kept that program for that park at least tbh. I witnessed so many people almost die this weekend

I remember ski patrol screaming at swearing at people back in the day for skiing in the pipe, even kids. Now you have to be scared even politely asking them to get the fuck off a knuckle or go to the smaller park.

There were always jerries in parks, but it's def out if control these days.

Parks have fences and signs, people don't guve a fuck. There could be 3 or 4 small parks designed for jerry and his family and they will skip then all to side jump the XL park or stand on a knuckle kf a 70' jump.

Idk. I don't get too butthurt about it anymore but it does suck. Especially with how accesible parks are theae days. Mtns put a ton of effort into making high quality parks and keeping them in good shape. Sucks that people will do whatever.

Johnny can do whatever he wants. You can't tell him he can't. If you try to douche mom and dad will get in your face about it. If you hit any of them standing in a landing or they ski into you it's your fault. If you tell them to get out you're being mean.

Idk it's fucking hopeless. I've been run over at least 3 times raking features and once closing off a feature while ski patrol came to help a kid on the landing. Also had a racer girl ski into my board and smash the side in badly. Ruining the damn thing.

Idk i think most people are down with kids getting in parks and learning. It's a mix of lack of etiquette which makes sense and entitlement which isn't cool. Being a noob you might not know wtf is up, but you learn through fucking up and being told nicely or even not so nicely whats up. Same with skatepark kids. The parks are their for everyone, but don't be a douche.

There was a time when mtns didnt have small parks. It was a few big sketchy jumps and rails. You just gave it a go untill you figured it out. Now they have these perfectly manicured small parks and people say fuck it and kook up the big park. Fuck that shit.

Their/their parents stupidity not only fucks up the parks, but it creates a legit hazard to them and the people actually riding the parks. Also jerries are the ones suing most of the time.

ClaytoncI was hitting the smaller jump line at Eldora and some guy was just standing in landing of the jump fiddling with his skis. I basically was within 3 inches of landing on top of him. I don't understand how people don't understand that the landings are blind and the person hitting the jump can't see the landing until they're in the air.

Prime example of kids on the landing. Was going for a handdrag 7 here and had to open up right after 180 to avoid killing him. The filmer (he was young) should have also warned me.
