Base Tear on Right Tail: Fixable or Doomed?

So after 10 years of loyal service my 2009 Line Anthems have finally succumbed to damage that I can't ignore:


So my base has torn at the right tail, and the edge has lost it's hold on the ski. I'm just wondering, before I bring it into my local ski shop, do you guys think it's fixable or will this be the final season I ride these planks? If they're fixable, then great, I'll patch them up and see if I can ride them for another 10 years; but if not, I'll demount the bindings, and hang those planks up on my wall as I can't see myself selling them.

Definitely worth trying a DIY repair with maybe clamps and some marine-strength epoxy to hold you over for the remainder of the season. I did that to my old pow skis last season and was able to finish the year strong.

I’d say with cutting the edge away, sticking the base back down with some 2 part epoxy and then riveting you could still enjoy them as rock skis and as an art piece the rest of the time. It’s probably time for some new skis, and if you loved the anthems I think you’d love our Alparkas.

as I'm sure many skiers do, I have a love-hate relationship with my skis since I've owned them this long. I love the graphics that Line put on these bad boys back in the day, and if I could find another ski that is just as purple that would be amazing. However, while they were tough with their cap construction and Maple core, they were also very chunky and a bit on the heavy side. I tried out my friends J skis and they felt like half the weight my anthems were. I like their symmetrical shape and the overall 93mm width of the ski, but hate how they sink like rocks as soon as I get Beyond ankle deep snow due to the fact that they are fully cambered with zero rocker. Being that their line skis they're also noodle soft, which is both a good and bad thing. Also the extruded bases aren't exactly the speediest things I've put my feet on to. If your alparkas are anything like what I'm asking for, you might have a sale LOL

Hey, so here's an update:

my local shop was able to fix them and they look almost good as new. What's better is that since I'm a skiing instructor in the area, our Hill has staff deals with our local ski shop, so I was able to get 50% off labour which is insane; An $80 job only cost me $44! the technician wasn't able to save the tail Edge, but it's okay as he filled it in with ptex and it looks good as new.

Fucking old lines.

i rode a pair of my brothers for a week and both tips delammed by the end of it.

maybe they are better today idk
