DientoBase dmg fix is Ptex :)
JuncoFlocksThanks! And since I'm curious, and you seem to know... What's epoxy for?
DientoEpoxy is just good glue which is also used to glue together the layers/wood of the ski. So mostly used to repair delaminating or edges coming out etc.
JuncoFlocksThank you very much!
kylemcleanSince the core is exposed then the ptex may not hold well and could come out after some riding especially because of the size of the gouge. If it doesn't then a base weld or epoxy will be the fix.

DomRichardyour gonna want the epoxy for delams, marine epoxy is the go to stuff for most people
Lil_strouterHi dom
Dan-Manif you want a true bombproof fix, take it to the ski shop for a base weld.
if your a do it your selfer p-tex is your best bet, but as b4 mentioned you may have trouble getting it to stay in for more than a few ski days.
that core shot is going to take multiple coats of dripping p-tex in and scraping.
DolanReloadedWhats the point of using ptex if it only stays in a few days then falls out?
would it be better to use epoxy as a bottom layer, then put ptex and wax on top?
kylemcleanIt all depends on the gouge, for medium depth ones Ptex can work well, sometimes for deep ones like this it works but its hit or miss. Biggest thing is if core is exposed or not. If there's no core exposed the Ptex normally works well.
OregonDeadif you haven't already tried dripping Ptex then that is the first thing to try . I have had some pretty gnarly ones last a long time
I have also had some that I have to redo every so often but it is still basically free to drip some ptex in there so no big deal really
