Saw a bunch of jerry teles the other day

So I think Holiday Valley had a Tele demo day. I guess it's a way to try before getting into that variation of the sport, but man was it funny. Usually the Tele guys I see rip, but these dude were falling every 5 seconds. It didn't click in my brain until like the 5th one I saw. These also appeared to be people who haven't graduated from intermediate skiing either so it was extra specially funny

Hey if they start touring they won’t be plugging up the resorts

What’s the terrain there like? I actually pass that on my way to killi and wish I’d stopped, I hear people talking about it all the time but they are not good skiers so when they say something is gnarly I just kinda sigh

The terrain is definitely about as varied as it gets for the area. Downhill ripping is pretty great, and they have a really nice glade hill but it gets overrun w beginners thinking that they are the shit so I just hit glades over by the main park. Parks there tho are kinda wack honestly bc there’s really only 2 and one is a beginner park at the bottom of the main run there. Also they don’t allow inverted aerials, which got my pass taken the first time I went this year. But it’s my favorite place to hit around me because I don’t want to pay 90 bones to ski 7 springs for the day.

For NY it’s pretty good. Gets plenty of snow because of it’s proximity to Lake Erie. The park is either super nice or super jank. Also the town is actually pretty nice, the restaurant we ate at was playing some super old meat head movies which added to the vibe.

Ima have to check it out , not often I pay for something not on my ikon but it’s close-ish and new and especially unknown terrain is soooo fun.

Going to Killi caused a problem for me, I’m not interested in my home mountain anymore, I was almost bored to begin with but now shit....looking for anything new

Terrain seems kinda mellow to me now. Steepest run is the wall but it's basically a 100' wall slide of ice, except Friday where snow held for about an hour til it got skied off. Best glade run imo is the one next to ego alley. Less people hit it, so the snow stays longer. Their terrain is good for the area though

Telestock 2020! Shit was so much fun. I will admit I looked like a total Jerry when I first tried, if you saw a kid in a pink armada jacket faceplant that was definitely me but I was getting the hang of the free heel by the end and even did a black off the eagle chair. They gave free lessons which were crucial for figuring them out because I would've looked like an idiot trying to learn them on my own. I can rip up any run at holiday on normal skis but damn tele skiing is a workout. Such a fun event and definitely got me thinking about getting a tele setup.

Don’t hate on telestock!

Also we have a group of swap officers who come in on SUPER low tech old cross country/tele looking things held together by a leather strap. Each year a new group of them come in to learn how to use these things as an informal part of their training or something.

The valleys setup is super whack this year. I wish they would build big jumps again. WNY in general besides PNP and Holimont (my home base) has been pretty meh park wise

Lmao the biggest jump they got there last I was there was that little baby kicker with the cannon rail attached on fiddler's elbow. I remember they did have kickers last season but they were wack af.
