Almost every ski resort in Colorado leases land from the forest service in case you didn't know. So if you're actually mad about this then try to have at least SOME logical consistency with your outrage and don't buy a pass this year. yes but he obviously knew that he wasn't supposed to be doing that. the impact is not just him walking on the log it is that if he does not face backlash other people will feel ok doing it themselves and then there will be a problem. if he wasn't seeking attention what was he doing? protesting the protection of fragile ecosystems? his actions are incredibly hypocritical. he criticized vail for "decimating wilderness" but he doesn't seem to care much for helping protect it. the dude has his head is so far up his own ass.

Also if you read the forest service's management plan for the area then you would see that the main detriment to the hanging lake ecosystem is soil erosion from increased trail use and not "human contact with the water" lol.
