my skis are 96 underfoot and they're magic so giving advice to either 90 or 102 is awkward for me

Do the 102's. It will feel a little different but you will adapt. 102 is wide but not that wide.

yeah exactly
also switching from a smaller ski underfoot won't feel too bad, like i adapted to my bent chetler 120s from honey badgers which are 92 mm in less than 2 runs.

Keep in mind the 102s are stiffer and a bit heavier than the 90s. I have ridden both but own the 102s. Also I would recommend to mount the 102s -2 bc ON3P recommends it. 90s should be true center.

102s are solid in just about all conditions I have skied in though. Great pair of skis.
