Computer cooling/heat dissipation systems are so cool...

I think the way liquid-filled heat pipes and vapor chambers work is fascinating. They work up to 90 times better than a solid piece of copper which is pretty amazing imo. Anybody else find these things interesting?

Yeah its pretty neat stuff, I find even crazier is the lengths overclockers will go to get an extra few MHz out of their system. Not talking beefy coolers and watercoolers, but liquid Nitrogen and other stuff to regulate temps to the point they have to compensate for condensation etc. I've put in a couple hours on youtube watching guys go through their process and found it pretty interesting

Yeah. I dont really know what the point of using liquid nitrogen to overclock is. Like youre not going to sit there playing a high graphics game pouring 5 bucks of liquid nitrogen on to your Chipset every minute. Im more interested in sustainable cooling options which will allow you to overclock, like hooking up a freon ac unit to reliably cool the system.

I’m a project manager. I design and fabricate, sometimes install, hydronic heating systems. Just basic pump sizing stuff and general thermo calculations. I’m basically a glorified plumber who spends a lot of time at a desk making sure things are well designed and try to minimize points of failure instead of just slapping together a system on site with parts on hand. Favorite parts are designing the tubing layouts for floor heating systems (turning massive trophy home floors into giant heat exchangers) and actually doing the hands on prefabrication stuff. I get to TIG weld aluminum and do copper pipe fitting stuff
