Mr.LumpyjumblesYou have to lock your skis on the rail to bring your momentum back. If you put pressure on the side of the rail with the tails of your downhill ski it should bring you back to forward. Any 'how to slide rails' video will do a much better job of explaining it.

Mr.LumpyjumblesYeah. You don't necessarily need to do it to come to forward, but it might make it easier/cleaner and is a good start to doing spins off.
SofaKingSickYeah, just make sure you’re good and locked on, and then you can just square your chest back up looking forward and/or drop your front heel a little/dip your back toe a little bit (scissoring)
