Which Bindings do I get for my ARV116's?

Okay so I am 6' 250 lbs and I am wondering what is the best binding for my new planks.

I have these skis in 185cm:

I am thinking these bindings (in gold):

would these be a good fit or do you guys suggest something else? I was looking at classics like the marker griffin and the salomon sth13 as well.

You are a pretty big guy no offensive depending on your skier type you probably want a burlier binding. Pivot 14 or 15 (15s are all metal) possibly even the 18s. STH 16s are super solid along with the attack 16s. I would stay away from the Wardens though.

No a well made binding. The attacks are better made and cheaper usually if you are trying to stay cheap. I personally prefer pivots.

Sth2 13 or 16, pivot 18 or next year's 15, or attack 16's are the best clamps on the market. Wardens would be a downgrade.

I bought some ARV 116s this year! I put shifts on them. The set up has been dope so far. I am 100lbs lighter and 6 inches shorter (and female) but they feel really sturdy and still pop off when they should even though the dins are at 9.

They are a budget binding. Low end performance. Not very sturdy. You can get attacks for less that are a way better made binding.

Stack height, elasticity, price, and durability. The warden was released because it is MNC, if you have a standard alpine sole there are better bindings on the market.

Get pivot 14s,15s or even 18s and you will be good

also grab that 115 mm brake

How aggressive a skier are you?

If not very to medium, those are fine

if you’re somewhat aggressive or more I’d say go with Look Pivots, Tyrolia attacks, or Salomon STHs


describe yourself skiing or ask more questions if that isn’t enough info :)

Unless you are using touring boots get these instead:

Its similar but better and cheaper binding so it's a no brainer.

5 foot 6 female assuming her bsl is around 300 and she is a type 3 skier has a recommended din from a ski shop would put her at between a 6 and 7

Edit: I'm 6 foot weigh 155 type 3 skier, bsl of 310 and my dins are a little less than 8 and I rarely pop out. If everything else on her binding is set correctly a 9 is unnecessary

no reason for OP to get a pivot 18 if they're riding at 10 DIN other than flexing that you have the extra cash.
pivot 12's should be fine

I'm on my second pair of shifts (thank ski shop prodeals) - i usually ride a 8 or 9 DIN myself, however i found myself pre-releasing like fucking crazy. What helps is checking your toe height adjustment every few days you ski them. Additionally, I set my forward pressure a bit tighter than recomended, ie. the indicator is barely popping out of the housing where you read forward pressure. Cranked my DIN's up to 11.5toe12heel and they're riding and releasing responsively.

how heavy are you? I just tried the shift briefly, but they released on me just trying to basic stuff, Thats also why Im eyeballing the duke pt hybrid, instead of shift mnc 13. Im 215-220lbs and tallish at 6'2

I used to always ride with my dins set at 7, but would pop out if I didn’t land a big stomp perfectly. I found I was releasing unnecessarily. A couple level 4 friends and knowledgeable ski techs helped me fine tune so that I presumably wouldn’t pop out as much, but it turned out I just need a higher din. It’s what’s comfortable to me and I always release when I should. It’s just personal preference, sorry that I shred harder than you xo

I recently bought a look binding, it reminded me why I bought marker bindings.

I wouldn't trust the plastic toe peice of 12 or 14 at 250lbs, but that's just me.

PhreeKandiIf you don't land a big stomp perfectly, your skis should pop off. I had a friend who thought it would be a good idea to crank his dins. He dropped this 25 foot cliff and tomahawked. His ski didn't release and he messed up one of his knees, and had to sit the rest if the szn out. Also, you better have video footage to back up the claim that you "shred" harder then me, cuz i got footy and would be overjoyed to compare.
Sidenote: a 150 pound woman is pretty fat ngl especially if your 5' 6"

Your 16, you still have a lot to learn such as there being a middle ground between that chart and cranking your dins. Calling someone fat in a healthy weight range is pathetic. Not every girl is a twig like ur soyboy ass. I'd rather have someone who looks healthy and normal at 150 lbs then some anorexic chick.

I could be wrong about this but was under the impression that the Warden 11 is the less sturdy/budget version, but the Warden 13 has the same internals as the STH2 13, so depending on what boot you're riding in, there shouldn't be too much difference between them? Then the STH2 16 bumps up the internals to metal from plastic but you gain weight with that obviously
