Broke bindings, replace with same model?

Broke my heel piece smoking a rock, skis are ok but need to replace the bindings. Guy on the lift suggested I replace them with a binding with the same screw pattern, saying something about just using larger screws, is this a good idea? I would have thought a different screw pattern would be more secure but have never experienced this problem before.

Did it pull out or just break? Pull the heel piece and inspect the holes closely to see if they're damaged at all? If not I'd reuse the holes to avoid drilling another set.

If there is damage to any of the holes you can reuse the hole with a helicoil insert installed by any decent shop. Or do an swappable insert like Binding freedom or quiver killers. Just as long as the thread damage isn't so big that it would prevent a helicoil or insert to be used. I think BF or QK may even make extra large inserts for these situations

The heel piece basically stripped itself off the track. Haven't pulled the track off yet, the skis are in my buddy's truck but I'll take a look tomorrow when I can get my hands on them. Sounds like replacing with another pair of Jesters is the best bet

U should be able to find a jester heal pretty easy, u could even use a griffon heal if you run under a 13

I mean if the track is still intact you probably dont need to pull it off, you can just slide the new heel onto it.

He could use a Griffon heal but no shop would test them out
