Has snowboarding or skiing progressed more

which sport has progressed more from a freestyle stand point skiing or snowboarding. Which has the biggest spins. Which one has the most progressive rail tricks. what do you guys think.

I’d say we’ve always had pretty equal progression but snowboarding is just a tad bit ahead of us. Watch snowboarding knuckle huck vs. Skiing knuckle huck from this year and you’ll know what I mean.

Skiing is like formula 1 and snowboarding is like moto gp motorcycle racing. Formula 1 is faster, more agile, and more capable just like skiing. Snowboarding is better for big mountain powder, but for everything else, especially park, skiing is more gnarly. Style potential is also way higher than in snowboarding. A triple cork on a snowboard looks forced with arms flailing everywhere and barely holding on in the landing. Boarders cant change their rotation speed as much as skiers can because their legs are at a fixed length apart attached to the board.


sparknotes, skiing progression crushes snowboarding progression when you include style progression as a factor

skiings got better grabs and cooler rotations. skiers can do way more shit on rails too

I think snowboarding knuckle huck is just different. Its easier to get pop and you can hop a lot higher on a board than on skis giving snowboarders more flexibility on tricks

/QUOTEI think that makes it gnarlier. Someone on a board can't really grip the rail like skiing, so when snowboarders do big spins out or onto a rail I find it much more impressive, even if it doesn't look as cool. Skiing definitely has an advantage when it comes to rails.

The same. Snowboarders have bigger hump rotations for the most part, skiers have bigger rail spins. Progressed since when? Both didn't even exist at one point so they both progressed abaout the same. In the 2000s skiing progressed more imo.
