Ski Shop set my DINs at 4

I like to support this shop over their competitors in town because they carry armadas, Line, K2, Oakley, etc. and other new school skiing brands. I’ll usually go in a couple times a year and buy small things, chat with the guys about carrying more core brands like ON3P and Moment, and flex the new skis.

So you can imagine my horror when they placed my newly mounted Magnus beauties in my hands and I realized the DINs were set at 4! I usually ride them around 12 so my skis don’t pop off doing swerves, presses, and butter maneuvers like the bunchboys.

friesI feel you. I know what you need to do. Show up to the shop 2 hours before opening and build a kicker near their front door. As soon as the ski tech shows up for work, grab the bungee. Come in at at least 40mph and I want you to hit the biggest shifty this world has ever seen. Assuming that you’re skiing with the door to the left of you, your tips should bonk the window and leave magnus-shaped fractures. Then you gotta stomp the landing on flat, make sure your beanie falls off on the ride out, and swerve swerve swerve. Wave the arms. By this point mom should be in the parking lot ready to pick you up. Leave the bungee behind so these shop bitches can learn some urban. Then ride up to the mountain and go send the fattest lazy boy 1 the world has ever seen.

If your mom has one of those honda minivans she can open the sliding door and you can go right on in, no need to even click out from your skis. Especially because at this point the dins will be at 18.

through the years eveytime I go in a shop with a mount request or looking for parts (binding screws) they look at me like I just asked if they could turn water into wine!

like seriously go in the back and dig out the damn screws!! I ended up leaving the bindings there with the to see if they could find them. haven't hear back. I know I could just order them from "bindingfreedom.com" but I wanted to give these guys another chance. but it's looking like this may be the last time I go in there.

I went there a few years ago to get ski mounted, and they wanted $60. then called me back a week later saying they couldn't mount my skis because the brakes weren't safe. (bent pivot brakes).

Is it really that hard to put a JIG on a ski and drill some damn holes? growing up I had a hook up at the shop, walk in say hey go back with the tech and he'd get the job done in 10-15 min. no problem.

I've long since gone the way of just printing the template and mounting myself, fuck ski techs. I get they have to follow charts and all that. but come on. Most these guys are the biggest chumps i've ever met. I get it, they thought "hey I'll get a job at a ski shop because I like skiing". Next thing you know they are dealing with renting out 1000's of skis fitting millions of stank ass feet in shitty rental boots. mounting countless shitty setups for little johnys first skis et.


long story short. think twice before going to your local shop, usually just easier to get your supples on the internet and do it yourself. AND NEVER BECOME A SKI TECH. they are bitchmade.

ShireRatIf your a dope enough skier to be rocking your din at 12, your a dope enough skier to be able to adjust your din by yourself. Also, you can always request that they set the din to a certain release value. Just sign the paper that says it’s on you.
