1st backflip stoke center

Today was a good day!!!
Thank you NS for the tips. I set with my hips (for the successful ones) and I learned that here.
My first attempt nobody filmed, it was clean af but it doesnt matter cause it wasn't on camera.
2nd try (3rd post) I ate shit real hard, head tapped and folded in half.
3rd try (1st post) i washed out backseat but I got the rotation.
I don't remember anything from during the invert, all I saw was white. I was just praying lol. Stoked that I got it tho! Snowboarder buddy also landed his first wildcat (2nd post) that day so it was rad.

It looks like in the last vid he didn't quite commit himself all the way. Its important to keep looking for the landing all the way through the flip. Even if you don't make it around at least you don't land on your neck

Yeah, he landed on his head... he was trying on land on his feet. When you land on your head. That’s called a dive. And you normally try to do that into water. So sport confusion It seems like. Happens pretty often

Imma keep it real, during this flip I couldn't see a goddamn thing. It was just pure white. It didn't help that the light was flat, but It was literally just a huck and pray. Not sure at what point I'll be aware enough to spot the landing.

As for the failed one, I didn't commit to the rotation enough and left my legs behind resulting in the skis tapping my head. After that I knew I was fucked so I just braced for impact lol.

I know what you mean, I experience the same thing sometimes. It’s like I’m not closing my eyes but they’re also not doing me any good. It’s easy to focus so much on the flip itself that you lose focus of your surroundings in the air. Among focusing on pop and the run in, keep repeating to yourself that you’re gonna spot your Landing. Usually helps me from getting too excited and basing my flip only off my feeling

The dude, in an effort to huck harder, pushed legs backwards at the same time he tried to throw his head back. This is bad news because even though it feels like a good position to be in, it kills a lot of your momentum from your initial upper body huck. Think opposite rotating forces in physics. The rotation was already negatively affected by that from right as he went off the jump, and I think when his head hit his tails he was understandably surprised and that broke his focus and prevented him doing a tuck-to-save out. Anyone else got thoughts?
