What up Fam.
(For reference III+ level skier)
Headed to Telluride next week (Stopping in Silverton for a Guided day + 3 heli drops) and Ill be staying local and skiing Telluride Friday solo dollo.
Looking to do mostly hike to terrain and hoping someone on here can give me some good beta or recommendations.
Looking at the map Im most certainly interested in Palmyra Peak and Black Iron Bowl. I believe easiest access is had by Lift 12 and then just booting up.
Gold Hill Chutes from lift 14/15 look tasty as well - though I am not sure that 6-10 chutes will be open by then.
Revelation bowl reminds me of Mineral Basin when looking at the map - and I am expecting the same... chair 15 (rev lift) will prob be the chair i lap while on that side of the mountain.
Any advice or tips would be appreciated.
I will be bringing my avy gear - however I am wondering how practical skins would be. (Transition time alone might not be worth it as this mainly seems like a ridge line bootpack)
Also would it be wise to throw a pair of crampons in my pack? or are there established boot packs?
Also wondering where to start from. Thinking Telluride proper then taking Lift 8 to Lift 9.
If im looking to climb Palmyra first am I better off parking at the Station Village and taking Lift 10 to 11 and then 12?
Thanks in advance for any insight.
Let me know if youll be out there!
