Big air qualis, how does his clean switch dub 18 seatbelt get him 6th?

And he wasn't just beat by triples, Henrik's dub 16 safety put him in 4th.

I think the judges docked it cause the grab wasn’t quite clean.

the cork 1 was absolutely sick tho, sucks to see it wasn’t rated highly. Guaranteed he’s the only person in the comp that could do it.

Also first trip 10 in a comp by Elias was dope, pretty proper corks all the way through

He 100% got robbed
Even though he sorta missed that grab on the (SWITCH 1800!?) he’s still going for a grab more technical than everyone else and let alone doing a switch dub 1800.

Also that was the first legit cork 180 I have ever seen in a comp which I think deserves a lot of credit from the judges but hey

Ok will anyone mention how fucked this judging system was? How you gonna judge dudes for like 5 tricks when in finals they only have to stomp 2? It makes no sense.

The judging system was completely unfit for the actual event, they qualify based on a completely diff thing than what they're actually qualifying for.

"How It’s Judged:
1 heat of 8 athletes in a 25-minute jam session, with approximately 6 runs per athlete. Riders are ranked 1-8 based on overall impression. Judges will rank competitors throughout the contest. Top 5 advance to Final to meet 2019 medalists. Places 6-8 eliminated from further competition. "

pretty sure they would adjust the ranking after each jump, so its probably based on your best jump, but if you did like 3-4 fire jumps i bet it got you higher than someone who landed one good trick.

He got shafted. It was like his last run was almost in defiance.

It was like “okay are my technical grabs and big spins not creative enough for you guys?”.... “well, what do you want from me, is this stupid cork 180 inventive enough for you jackasses?’’

Anyway, rant over, I’ll be missing him in big air. Disappointed.

I do think that Elias and Antoine deserved their placement. Not so sure about Christian and Andri, though, and it was a toss-up between Henrik and Ahall IMO. Hopefully he'll crush it in the Knuckle Huck, though.

Buick’s are apparently popular in Cuba(didn’t fact check it, but that’s the reasoning)..

so, Cuban-Seatbelt became Buick..it seems to have caught on

Im not saying its dub 16 blunt isnt sweet or difficult but seems like everyone and their mother ripped dub 16 blunt on the first hit. Dont get me wrong i love a good dub 16 with a nice blunt. I just think they coulda given ahall a lil more credit for the 18 and the fact that nobody else was going for a seatbelt with the blunt. The cork 1 was also amazing but its hard to expect a high score for a 180 in xgames even though its probly hard as shit lol. Either way ahall is an animal and ill bet well keep seeing wild shit outta him no matter what

he did the same grab for every jump except for the cork 1. All those tricks were insane but I think the new format is to get people like ahall to show some variety in tricks and grabs. He has won basically every big air in the past year with the same grab. People wanna see variety

Seems like any cork 1 is sloppy by design, but yeah I agree super rad but weird to see.
