Because the subject often lacks actionable conclusions, a "so what" if you will.

Weird... I didn't even know what it was when I showed up to school and I found it far and away the most intriguing intro class I took. I'd gander about a quarter of the books I've now read in my lifetime came from interests of that one class.

Maybe your curriculum sucks? Mine was a roller coaster of crazy and interesting shit.

Just find a good way to pass the time. Like surfing the internet during class. Sit in the front row, pull out your laptop and see if there are any good deals on skis or guns

I had to take 101 as a gen ed course and now I have to take 201 even though I’m definitely not a sociology major. I hate it.

OP I’d say we can start a two person study group but the work isn’t hard. It just sucks.

Was I was an English major but picked up a Sociology double because there was a cute girl I wanted to hang out with and that shit was MAD easy. Just mention the sociological imagination, C Wright Mills, and the "cultural milieu" in every paper and you'll get an A.

Most soc stuff is actually super interesting and relateable to life. it really just depends on the professor to make it engaging.

The 101 is usually bad because its just an overview of basic ideas, but later on it becomes more applicable and less pointless

thats tuff but you what not blocked. type in a movie you want to watch den add google dox and it should pop up a movie you can stream. example Fast and Faeroes google docs
