Ski bro discrimination

Has anyone felt personally discriminated against for your lifestyle choices/ values that involve a lot of skiing. Maybe you look too bummy in public maybe you wear your pants or bib out on the way to mountain and stop by a grocery store and get scoffing looks as if you and your type and welcome. Perhaps you even are singled out on the hill for not wearing colorful clothes and looking like you do this way too much.


maybe it’s preventing you from getting into a stable living situation or even securing a good job because “we know your type doesn’t stick around long”

All in all I believe discrimination against many of us who have an extreme love for the sport. Anybody care to share their experience?

A couple southerner customers have told me to cut my hair, i usually say i will when i feel like it, assuming they think im a stoner, i am and do need a haircut though.

There were some dark chins next to me at the lift line. I told them their kind wasn’t welcome and to go use the T-Bar.

Used to carpool to VT to setup rails at mt snkw till june. A bunch if oomus pouring out of a csr in snow pants and tall tees was always amusing. People are in full golf and boat mode and even if it was winter we looked like shady fucks.

True. But people who don’t work normal jobs often like to tell it to the world with their appearance be it piercings tats etc etc. ‘I ain’t tables bro I’m the chef.’

I dunno man, when I was at peak ski bum and had my longest hair I definitely pulled the hardest with the ladies, it's for sure a type and if you can find the right girl she'll be all over the malnourished-adrenaline-junkie-ski-wook-unshaven-goofball look. You just gotta be true to your brand and it will all work out.

I cut my hair and now I get paid a lot more but have much harder time in this town finding girls who are into the clean cut look.

Define normal job
I’ve got tats and piercings and both my careers or what you would consider normal job
I do hear what you’re saying and agree though some people seem to fit their market and others don’t seem to market themselves well

Working in pc its almost like some of the tourists want to bang myself and my bum coworkers, rich women just stripping down around 5 dudes after skiing all day, asking for deals, it gives them a taste of a new culture to hook up wity grungy ski bums.
