katrinaBreck is on point. They didn't build freeway this year and just made the bottom of park lane bigger. Plus, it's been like empty since everyone is at copper.
thatsGThat's what I'm worried about. Woodward taking control over the park scene. Vail resorts getting lazy
katrinaNah breck is perfect and they changed it up with some interesting transfer and combo features. I rarely hit freeway anyways since I can hit big jumps since my knee surgeries anyways, so for me it's basically unchanged.
thatsGDo they have the pipe on freeway still?
katrinaYea they actually moved it to the bottom of the park and its a few feet shy of super pipe but still huge now that it's at the bottom you can hit the top 2/3 of park lane and then cut over to the pipe.

Ryanvdonksounds like it's the original 18 foot super pipe, not the 22 foot super duper pipe.
loshBeaver creek got rid of their park a year or so ago

T.L.Incorrect. Rodeo is gone. Not all the parks.
101 has been built since mid December. Zoom Room opened last week with rails only while the jumpline gets tuned up.
Lumberyard log line next to the former Rodeo park should be open in the next week or so.
If you guys don't want to see VR parks continue to get chisled away at, start complaining on social media, emailing, and taking every survey you can get a hold of.
Literally not one person complained about rodeo disappearing because it was the worst snow year ever and locals just kinda understood why it wasn't built. They took that as implied consent from passholders that no one would care and axed it for good. Now it's an ungroomed trail lined with unused snowmaking intersected by waterbars and littered with shit bumps. No one rides it now.
cyphersi miss when they would build the halfpipe up on latigo :(
thatsGWhat are the parks looking like at Breck, Vail, and Beaver looking like so far this year?
theabortionatorIdk why the fuck you would hit keystone on that epic and if not epic copper.

trifonitchevwhy is everyone in copper though ? did they improve so much since 2013 ? (last time i was in the states and everyone was grinding keystone and a little of breck)
mattytruVail's strategic plan doesn't include parks... they are making their money on other populations. Loved Breck and A51 when I was in CO, but after coming back to Vermont and working at Stowe it became beyond clear to me what their ultimate plans are regarding parks. Interesting that they didnt build Freeway this year as well.
It seems to be a situation where either freestyle skiers and snowboarders need to lobby, and make their voices heard, or simply ride somewhere else.
After working for Vail and confirming my assumptions about their business practices (including the ridiculous amount of beaurocracy which denies any prospect of human creativity on the part of operations managers and lower rank employees), I have opted simply not to support them any longer. I dont think it is worth trying to lobby them to care about their park skiing population because their business model does not need to appeal to our population to be successful, making it a waste of time. Additionally, their employment practices are detestable so I would likely not support them even if they took heed of park riders' interests.
I'm curious to hear about the experiences of people working park crew at other mega conglomerates like Alterra and if their parks have changed due to management interference as well.

Goetj44What do you guys recommend to make Breck’s park better?
katrinaDesignated lift and some sort of gaper obstacle course at the entrance.
STEEZUS_CHRI5THow has A51 been? I always thought it was top notch.
SkiBum.Go to Keystone then. They have a pretty much park dedicated lift.
Brecks park has a loft that’s easy and high speed pretty much from top to bottom of park - just so happens to access much more then park and is one of the busier lifts.
katrinaCorrect! Just like the old days.
Hi Donk!
ConesForBreakfasWhat's up with Winter Park's pipe? It's been 18 ft and always is built like crap. The sun bakes on one side and makes it uneven but the transfers are worse, soo unpredictable and always weird
RyanvdonkSup trina! you coming up to the PNW this year?
katrinaIt's pretty much the same as like 3/4 years ago but no one skied there then and this year everyone got the ikon and so i think it's like a novelty factor? Idk it's good, but it's flat, very flat.
BarmskiGood to hear, now Breck's park is back to 2007 days, good to hear all the crowds went to Copper, yawwn... Copper..... amazing news. It will nice to not have to wait for 30 idiots at the top.
