Replying to Rent Skis or Fly Out With Em?

Going to Colorado in February with family(2 adults, 2 kids), we plan on bringing our boots, but I was debating bringing our skis or renting, but it might be a hassle at the airport and fitting into the rental car(midsize suv). Other worry is if there is an issue, I dont want to lose time waiting for a repair, so renting might be the way to go.
This a good idea?
Was thinking Christys (we are doing Vail). Was curious what skis you get at the Sport, and Performance level(demo is a bit more spendy…)
