Anybody windsurf?

I’m just riding the wave.

I kiteboard. Windsurfing is awesome, but if you put the time and money into kiteboarding I think you'd love being able to boost higher, pack up easier, and do it on vacations much easier. I'm so stoked that I got into it, it's a huge hobby of mine now

I do, but mainly on waves.
Only sport that matches or better than skiing.

I grew up in hood river and didn't try it till the summer before i left, Kiteboarding is better.

I used to do it more than I do now. I have a 90s set up that my dad gave me that is good enough to have some fun with. My main issue is that the lake I live on has weird unpredictable wind all the time so it really hard to have fun when the wind seems like it is blowing in all directions at once or randomly not all. I have more fun strapping a cooler full of beers on my paddle board than trying to windsurf.

Fully depends what kind of wind conditions you usually get. I would suggest going down to one of you locals spots and ask around there or see if there is any facebook groups for your spots. Soon enough you will want more sails (and boards) for various conditions but its good to start off with something that will give you the most number of days on the water. Also Im sure the board will be good for starting out on but expect to want a smaller board when you get the hang of planing so if you can its a good idea to buy your first board used so that you can re sell it without loosing to much money. Have fun though, windsurfing has a bit of an hard learning curve but its so much fun when you get the hang of it!

Cool. Yeah ive only done it on vacations in the caribbean but i got good enough to use a harness and plane and
Tack and gybe with it and it felt like i was hitting 25-30 mph (judging by hobie 16 standards on windy day).

i like the bic techno 160L because its got a wide layout like the 240L and would be quick planing, but i dont think ill be able to uphaul on the 160L without my fat ass sinking the whole rig.

i think the bic techno 205L might be enough of a board for me, but its more narrow than the 160L and 240L so i dont see it planing as easily.

My plan is to go with the 240L and just get a big ass 8m sail to overpower it. I dont want to be stuck with a
small sail that doesnt give enough punch.
