Changes to Line Reactors...

They have a team version next year. Its the same binding it just has camo gorillas on it instead of being black. It looks pretty sick.

i talked to the guy designing them, they're using different suppliers for alot of the materials and should be alot more durable, he had me and some guys demo them and they rocked, we did our best to beat the shit out of them but they held up fine

i wish they would make them less HEAVY.

i guess they are making the plastic stronger... something.. i can't believe your complaining about the weight though... when i ski i hardly notice it.

no im not complaining about the wieght I haven't tried them I have just felt them and noticed how heavy...apprently the wieght evens out when riding though?

The toe-piece doesn't looks any stronger, they need to make it longer and more burly, it looks weak...

i complain about weight cuz they're heavy as shit. 1400grams is like 4 pounds each. and i usually ride 1260's with salomon ti bindings, so when i demoed these, not only did they prerelease twice, they felt heavy as all hell and i wasn't digging it.

^and i made a mistake. 1400g is what p12's weigh. the lines weight 1800g, and the salomon ti bindings weigh 900g, for comparison purposes. it really is a big difference.

Its a big difference yeah but unless your hucking quad lincoln loops or wilson flips weight directly under your foot doesnt mean shit, your boots for instance weigh a ton and barely anyone complains about that. The Line bindings have a lower swingweight that the salomons, or the p12s.

As for not digging in, well i dont know what you mean by that but the rise those bindings give you will help you dig in if anything, and if you cant dig in with those i recomend you buy some volants and mount them up with a second riser plate and some demo bindings.

Durrability is the only issue with these bindings, which for the time being is negated by their killer warranty.

And to the original poster changes to the new bindings that i know of are stronger teeth in the toe piece and possibly the heelpiece although i was only told about the toe. This would definately help with the toe pieces that start to become lose after some big impacts, and will cure some durability problems.

the salomons are also pieces of shit that break and bend in like a week of skiing, they also feel heavier because they are one piece, and they actually feel lighter when spining because most of the weight is underfoot. The main problem was durability, which i'm sure line is working on.

The way the fibers in the toe and heel piece are woven together is changing. This will make them a LOT stronger.

^^^yeah, ever landed switch with s912s and ejected? the binding destroys itself. i snapped the ti plate in 3 different pieces after i ejected landing switch after a 5, and i did the same thing with my lines, it didnt even BEND the brake. i was stoked.

ok first of all, i said i wasn't digging IT (it being the binding, as in i wasn't really enjoying it), not that i wasn't digging INto the snow. i thought they were amazing for carving and i think that is their major strength, because for anything else, i had bad experiences. For the guy that said they were actually lighter when spinning, you're actually wrong. i know, because i have skied the same exact ski with salomon bindings and then demoed them with line bindings. the skis are very much a lot noticeably heavier when spinning with the line bindings, and take a bit of getting used to. i understand that the weight is right under your foot, but try this:
stand in your room and do a 360. now attach 15 pound leg weights to each foot. you didn't add any swing weight, cuz all the weight is centered right on your foot, but it's still heavier, a lot.

now onto prereleasing. how many people have talked about phantom prereleases on their line bindings, where the binding just inexplicably released for no reason? many. i've had this experience: i dropped into the pipe and as i skied toward the other wall my ski fell off, just like bibby in x-games. doesn't really inspire confidence when they fall off while skiing straight. before you say it, yes it was clicked in all the way, and adjuested by a shop employee.

go watch the line video on their site where they test the binding. notice how the closer they get to the heel of the binding with the pressure, the easier it twists out. good i guess if you're falling off a 50 foot table, but seriously, when you watch the video, it takes very little force to get them to twist out when the pressure is right behind the heel. maybe these phantom prereleases are happening just by people's weight getting thrown too far in the backseat(!) something to think about at least. either way, these bindings were super heavy and didn't inspire confidence while riding. i've put my salomons through way more intense stuff over the entire season than i put the lines through that one day, and i've had very little trouble with them.
