I was wondering what yall prefer to shop on EVO or THE HOUSE, I have always used Evo because of their variety of products.

I use Evo for most purchases. Usually has the best prices and other than slower shipping I can't complain.

proform through a local shop cuz of work because its hard to pass up smokin' deals on pivots.

EVO for online stuff though. Ive given them a lot of money this season so far. Ive just had bad customer experiences with Backcountry that im kinda over their hype.

I bought my skis from The House and had some issues with them. It was a few days after I bought them and checked the status and said pending. So I got in contact with someone and they said they only had one left and someone ordered them at the same time as me. I doubt it was the same exact time as mine down to the seconds. They said they would pick someone in a few days which I thought was odd. I ended up getting them but kind of weird and frustrating process.

not tryna say don't save your money my broke ass is all for that...just saying if you buy all your gear online, we won't have local shops anymore.

I don't totally trust that the House has what they are advertising. I know some people that have had good experiences there but I also have heard of people paying for an item only to hear days later that it was sold out. That is exactly what happened to me with some bindings. I waited for a shipping confirmation for days and then instead got a notice that they were sold out and then it took another day or two for them to refund me. Since it was winter and I had some skis I wanted to mount up it was kinda a bummer because the day I would have otherwise received my bindings I was instead ordering from someone else and waiting again

I didn't down vote you. Just saying me not buying my skis at my local shop won't kill it off. Hell my local shop doesn't even cater to my kind of skiing.

love evo, has been cool to watch them grow over the years (their online presence was primarily on ebay back in the day it seemed like) and now they have probably the biggest selection of anyone. i have browsed a ton on the house but never bought from there, haven't had a need to stray from evo EXCEPT this season i got a whole new setup from skis.com which was the best pricing i could find, they give 10% off promo codes to all new customers (or all customers if you just sign up with a new email every time), was same slow-ish shipping like evo but ended up working out perfectly. if making a big purchase that might be worth checking out tho their selection isn't near as vast i dont think.

Brick and mortar retail just cannot compete with prices online. I like the local shop and all but I'm not a charity. If I can save literally hundreds of dollars, I'm gonna.

I've used both extensively for 15+ years. Used the house more originslly, then evo more. Now back to the house. Evo used to have some smoking deals in the outlet. Outlet still has some goodshit but for nearly the kast 10 years its been pretty picked clean or stuff just sells faster.

I usually find more consistent deals on the house. Both are great though and have awesome costumer service.

I bought a board bag off evo and fucked up foregetting about a holiday. It wasn't going to come till the day I was leaving for NZ. Complety my fault which sucked cause im usuallly in top of that shit.

Anyway I called immediately to see if I could upgrade my shipping ir cancel the irder and rebook. Dude put me through with upgraded shipping for free and was fast and hassle free af.

I've gotten so many killer deals from both over the years.

I like supporting local but For a long time, and even still most of the time now, the boots aren't carried in my size, wide boards are slim to none and im poor af. When i live in areas with more core shops I def tend to buy more stuff there. In places where the vibe and people suck and they're just another business trying to make a ton of money? I really couldnt give a fuck about staying local.

evo has awesome customer service, easy return policies, etc. I rarely buy gear brand new, so evo's online outlet has taken a lot of my money over the years haha

when it comes to other ski services, like mounting bindings (if i don't have the time to mount them myself), i only use a local shop near me. i show up with my gear and a 6 pack of IPA, they get my skis done same day for a great price. gotta love that!

Completely. Levelnine, Powder7, Skiessentials.com are all local shops that move product online.

I shop all over the place. My most local ski shop is not very good, I mostly use a mid-size local chain sporting goods store for tuning stuff, the shop people there are pretty good, way better than reí, though the still haven't managed to setup a pair of shifts properly afaik.
