How good can you get in a ski season?

How much progression can you make in one ski season, skiing ~4 days a week start to finish? I'm kinda curious...

Depends on your starting place. A skier with a race background going into park is going to progress a ton vs a totally new skier. How athletic you are is also going to play a big role as well as how hard you push yourself with fear

I try to add a 180 and add a grab to whatever I know.
I add a 180 everywhere for example:
My goal this season is
720 cause i can 5
5 with grabs cause i can 360 with grabs
Frontswap and backswap then surface them hopefully
4 off cause i can 2 off both ways
2 on cause i can unatural on and lip on alright

Location really helps as well. Having access to an airbag or even a "good" park will make a huge difference.

Depends on how you spend those days. If you are actively working on tricks everyday and trying new shit every time you ski you’ll learn a good bit. If you’re crushing beers and just cruising all day you probably won’t learn much.

Pushing yourself and having a few buddies(crew) to help push and give advice can help you learn very quickly.

I dont know about one season but in terms of rail skiing, I think a good progression goal to always work towards is
All 8
All 8 with 450 out ( make it super?) not sure what the term is for this
All way 270 ons
All ways 2 pretz 2's
Both way back 4's and front 4's
Both way 6's if you find the right rail

Once you got those down than move onto
450 ons ( I dont think its important to have this bothways )
one Sw 450 on variation

A couple 2 p4 variations ( alot of this is rail dependent)

Some clean 3 swaps
and of course the classic 4 p2

This type of progression makes for a classsic well rounded 2012 skier. Kinda boring if you stop there, but its a good base that you can than move on from and make your skiing more interesting ( grabs, front/back slides, nollies shuffles, butters ect)

Alot of skiers unfortunately lack a creative mind, so there skill stops at banal rail tricks ( Im thinking of sam zhaner and derek simpson).

All your favorite rail skiers undoubtedly have a base like this, but once you get to certain level, trick selection and style is what separates good skiing from bad skiing.

sky is the limit. 4 days a week is a lot. if you get into it you can extend your season year round and keep the party going

4 days a week? You either live really close to the ski area or have no life stuff that gets in the way.
If you're determined and actually work at it and have friends to help you can get a good solid set of the basics down in a season.

Depends how much you wanna progress, me and my buddies spent two seasons just hiking rails and jumps, and progressed a fuck ton. It really depends on the effort you put in.

I focus more on taking tricks to bigger and bigger features rather than trying to pull sus tricks out of my ass every season. (Obviously I learn new tricks too but...) Nothing feels better than stomping something clean on a fat, floaty jump

Totally correct. The crew I usually ski with doesn't hit park much so my "big mountain" game has stepped up considerably over the past few years. That said, catch me missing grabs on 3's.

OP, find a crew that rides where you want to ride and fucking chase them, you'll get crazy good.
