Quit blowing up your own story with “get me to 3K” or reposting for someone “get them to 15K” literally just a number on your phone screen nobody gives a fuck if you have 3 followers or 50K, what matters is the content you put out.

TLDR we don’t care about a number on our phone screens we care about the content

It sucks but is a very quantifiable number of the reach you have for your content. That guaranteed reach is attractive to brands for sponsorship. More followers should mean easier sponsorship then regardless of how cool the content is or how good of a skier the person is. It is a shitty way of looking at it but for a lot of brands it makes sense as an easy metric

the worst is people who put their post in their story. You can fuck right off if you’ve ever done that, it’s the equivalent of getting on your knees and sucking D just to get a bigger number

What kills me is when multiple accounts that I follow post the same damn thing on each others stories. Or even worse yet, skiers who post screenshots of a post that another account reposted on their stories. It is like a black hole of instagram stories! When does it end!?

The other day I was in the gondola at Killington with a bunch of people who shred and post on insta. Or they were hot girls, but it's basically the same thing. All of us followed each other on Instagram at the end of the ride. It was real cool cause if not for Instagram I possible would have never seen them again, but now I can see Everytime they Huck something big or post a nice beach photo.

funniest thing is the people who see your story are the same people that the IG algorithm is prioritizing your post to. maybe different for people with huge followings but for the under 5k thats most likely the case

I'm just saying for trying to get sponsored it is probably pretty helpful to say "here's my audience and how many people see the content i post which could feature your brand!" I dunno though cause i've never tried to get sponsored or gain followers cause im on private
